How Did Life Use to Be?

This week, your assignment is to pick one invention that you think changed the way we live our day to day lives.

In a white sheet of paper, you will write 100 words on your chosen invention. You must follow these directions:

When referring to how things were in the past, use the expression “used to” at least 5 times.

In your own words, write about how you think life was before the invention. Include at least 3 ways in which things have changed since then. Describe ways in which this invention has influenced your life. If it has not,

explain why not.

Print an image of the invention and bring it to class. Each of you will discuss and share your findings with your classmates.

Don’t forget! Presentation counts. You will lose points if you don’t follow instructions.You will leave the assignment in the mailbox before 7am on Wednesday, April 18th.

Reported Speech with EmojisThis time will have to use your cellphone to do this homework. This homework has two different activities so please pay attention to each one. It would also be of great help to have your notes about REPORTED SPEECH that you have on your notebook. You will send me an email with the your answers and the screenshot of the message that your partner sent you to my email: [email protected]

ACTIVITY I ----Direct SpeechFirst, you will sent your partner (the one chosen in class) a whatsapp message telling or asking him or her 10 different things using as many Emojis as you can. You can express in simple present, present continuous, simple past and in past perfect.

Example:

ACTIVITY IIWhen you receive your partner´s message, the first thing you have to do is to take a screenshot of it. Then, you will send me an email reporting to me all the messages that he or she sent you. You can use your notes to report verbs correctly. Once you have finished you will insert the screenshot of your partner`s message and you will send me the email.

Activity 1: Copy or print the following exercises in your notebook including instructions. Use PENCIL when giving your ANSWERS.
