Bell ‘Star Carbon Helmet’ is one

of the first custom fit helmet

Digital modelling technology is

helping BELL make ‘Star Carbon

Helmet’ a much safer helmet

3D laser scans reproduce an

accurate model of the rider’s

head

• To mash the hair down tight against the riders skull, he has to wear a spandex cap.

• the technician walks a proprietary, handheld 3D scanning eye around your head.

• scanned, the computer creates a manipulatable 3D rendering of your head, neck, and shoulders.

After scanning, coordinates are sent back to Bell studio

They're used to create a bespoke interior core, which is assembled into a complete helmet.

A single inner shell of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is created.

The shell is shaped to the exact specs from the 3D scan.

• It is a big misconception that more pads make for a better fit; they are actually less stable.

• Buying a standard (S/M/L) size lid and rearranging the padding to conform to your noggin.
