Germanic tribes enter Gaul• On the 31st of December, 0406 Many of the Germanic tribes

such as the Vandals and Suebi entered Gaul through the frozen Rhine river.

The Sacking of Rome• On the 24th of August, 0410 the Visigoths stormed and took

Rome, which was the first time in 700 years that had happened for the last time was by the Gauls.

Invasion of Britain• On the 1st of January, 0450 Jutes and Angles and Saxons launch

an Invasion of Britain and take it then settle in there and claim it for their own.

Battle of Chalons• On the 20th of June, 0451 Roman and Germanic forces join

together to fight off the Huns. The Huns were led by Attila and were unsuccessful in their conquest of western Europe.

Attila the Hun’s death• On the 1st of March, 0453 Attila the Hun dies, and the Huns

retreat in all areas back to the east.

Fall of Western Rome• On the 4th of September, 047 The German general Odoacer

defeats Romulus Augustus who the last Roman Emperor in the west, and then Odoacer becomes the first king of Italy.

Clovis defeats the Roman General Syagrius• On the 1st January, 0486 Clovis defeats the last Roman leader

in Gaul, Sygarius, and causes a whole in their leadership which ended Roman Rule west of Italy.

Clovis self proclaimed Ruler• On the 1st January, 0509 Clovis unites all of the Frankish tribes

under one Ruler and thus established the Merovingian dynasty.

Plague • On the 1st of January in 0541, The plague outbreak in Europe

was devastating and ruthless, and it weakened the Byzantine Empire significantly. This opened Europe up to more invasions with their weakened state of defense.

Lombards conquer Italy• On the 1st of March in 0568 Albion leads the Lombards into

Italy and takes control of it even though it was a very weak grasp they had over the country.

The Vikings Invade• On January 1st in 0600 the Vikings start to raid Britain and

northern Europe.

Hispania invaded.• On the 1st of January in 0711 the Ummayad invade the

Visigoth controlled Spain and successfully conquered and claim it for the Muslim name.

Battle of Tours• on the 1st of October in 0732Charlemagne’s grandfather lead

a Frankish army against the Ummayads and Defeated them ending the spread of Islam in Europe.

Carolingian King• In the 1st of December in 0753 Pepin the short becomes king

of the Franks by Bonafice the Archbishop of Mainz. He marks the Reign of the Carolingian Dynasty.

Charlemagne becomes king• On the 25th of December on 0800 Charlemagne is anointed by

Pope Leo III on Christmas day.

Charlemagne dies• On the 28th of January in 0814 Charlemagne dies and the

Frankish Empire is weakened when his son Louis the Pious becomes King.

The division the of Frankish Empire• On the 15th of August in 0843 Louis the Pious dies which lead

to civil war to see who would inherit the kingdom. After 3 years the Empire divided into three parts under the rule of his three sons after they signed the treaty of Verdun.

The forming of England• On the 1st of January in 0899 Alfred the great gains control

over most of Britain and creates the layout for England. His grandson Athelstan is considered to be England’s first king

Normandy Established• On the 26th of August in 0911 King Charles the Simple gives

part of northern France to the Vikings and this becomes present day Normandy.
