WHAT IS A PROJECTOR ?

It’s an electronic device used to project rays of light,

especially an apparatus with a system of lenses for

projecting images or film onto a screen

TYPES OF PROJECTORS

There are three main types of projectors:-

1. DLP (Digital Light Processing)

2. CRT (Cathode Ray Tube)

3. LCD (Liquid Cristal Display)

HOW THE DLP WORKS?

DLP chip is a reflective surface made up of thousands of tiny mirrors

Each mirror represents a single pixel

In Case of DLP light from the projector's lamp is directed onto the surface of the DLP chip

8

Page 9: training delivery on HRM

The mirrors wobble back and forth, directing light either into the lens path to turn the pixel on, or

away from the lens path to turn it off

BENEFITS OF DLP User friendly

Face-to-face contact with the audience

Portability

Largest possible picture can be displayed

Smaller images a great option also

Space saving

Easy to install

LIMITATIONS

Dark room often required

Maintenance required

Rainbow artifacts

Separate audio system required

BRIEF HISTORY CD-ROM stands for Compact Disc Read-Only Memory

CD-ROM was developed jointly by Philips and Sony in 1980

Later the format was adapted to hold any form of binary data

CD-ROMs are popularly used to distribute computer software

WHY WE NEED CD-ROM ? 68% of the data losses are due to human errors

More than 50% of businesses that loose their data for more

than 7 days, never re-open

17% of data losses happen because of sabotage ,theft or

viruses

1/6 of documented data losses happen because of technical

failure

CDs come at a cheaper price than any other backup devices

Any data in a CD can be retrieved faster than any other

back up devices we may find

WHATIS

INTERACTIVEMULTIMEDIA?

22

Page 23: training delivery on HRM

INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA

Any computer-delivered electronic system that allows the user to

control, combine and manipulate different types of media

23

INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA AS A LEARNING TOOL

Potential to create high quality learning environments

Shifts user’s role from observer to participant

Explanation combined with illustrative examples

Online assessment with feedback

Opportunity to practice and experiment

DISADVANTAGES Richness and complexity can lead to problems

Poorly designed applications do not meet the needs of the learners

Supporting technology and equipment required

Users limitations and capabilities differ

Users focus more on the dynamic elements

Initial investment

Misconception of CBT

CONCLUSION

The need for modern methods of training delivery has been realized to improve the learning environment today

It is proven to work better overall even though they might have certain drawbacks

When compared to traditional training methods, its found to far exceed the expectations and abilities of a learning experience
