Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is dead. Giving money to charity, staff volunteering, painting the community centre – all good things but peripheral to the business. They donʼt lead to the creation of new products and services, differentiate your brand, engage your people or achieve lasting social or environmental impact." "The answers to the world's biggest social challenges will not be found by governments, charities or NGOʼs alone. Increasingly big companies are creating new business models, new products and services that deliver lasting, financially viable solutions to the big problems we face. The successful business leader of the future will have to understand this agenda to achieve competitive advantage. " "We call this emerging paradigm 'corporate social innovation' – Michael Porter calls it ʻcorporate shared valueʼ - and we believe it might be the future of business." "On November 23rd 2011 we are bringing together two of the planetʼs leading thinkers and actors in this space. We are delighted and honoured to be hosting in London Professor Muhammad Yunus and Emmanuel Faber, Groupe Danoneʼs COO, one of the first movers into “corporate shared value” arena."

“The purpose of the corporation must be redefined as creating shared value, not just profit per se. This will drive the next wave of innovation and productivity growth in the global economy. It will also reshape capitalism and its relationship to

society. Perhaps most important of all, learning how to create shared vale is our best chance to legitimize business again” !Professor Michael Porter, Harvard University!

Muhammad Yunus is the pioneer of microfinance and, in Bangladesh, has created the multi-billion dollar Grameen group of social businesses spanning banking, mobile phones, energy and IT, which touch the lives of many millions of poor people in underserved markets. This Nobel Peace prize winning social entrepreneur and best selling author has created groundbreaking partnerships with global companies such as Danone, Intel and Adidas as well as the governments of, amongst others, Brazil, Colombia, and Japan. His provocative point of view is that the world urgently needs a new business model that is as competitive and market facing as traditional business, but which focuses on ending poverty and inequality." "Emmanuel Faber oversees Danoneʼs innovation, people, finance and social impact agendas across the planet and is the driving force behind Danone-communities a 100 million euro fund that backs innovative business models in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Grameen Danone a joint venture food business targeting the poor was his first investment.  "
