There has never been a better time for retailers to increase sales by training, developing and retaining a skilled workforce. Retail Stock Room Essentials training gives your employees new skills and develops existing skills in ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time, and preventing stock loss by understanding key loss areas.This high quality training programme is an essential, fl exible and rewarding experience.
For eligible organisations, it is being fully funded by the European Social Fund so there is no cost to you.
Who is Retail Stock Room
Essentials suitable for?
Retail Stock Room Essentials training is suitable for all employees working in a stock room environment.
If you have more than two people, Retail Stock Room Essentials can be delivered exclusively within your premises. If your company meets the eligibility criteria this training is fully funded for new or existing employees aged 19 or over who work at least 16 hours a week and meet UK residency criteria.

The learning in detail
Retail Stock Room Essentials training off ers a balance of on and off the job training, independent study and the completion of both knowledge and competence based assessments. The focus is on developing individual and team working skills, providing valuable experience in a variety of retail related activities. These include selling, customer service, processing payments and product knowledge as well as subject based activities such as retail consumer law.
Progression
After completion there is the opportunity to progress onto a 12-month Level 2 Retail Apprenticeship programme. This apprenticeship is suitable for any employees working in a retail role at an operational level, for more than 30 hours a week and is delivered by our experienced teams on your site. Government funding is available subject to eligibility - depending on the employee’s age you may have to contribute to the training costs.
How much time do workers need to
be released for and commit to?
Retail Stock Room Essentials training consists of four two-hour sessions at your business premises. Learners will be required to complete three workbooks, which take between one and two hours each, and conduct research between these sessions.
