• Key accelerator for economic growth and innovation -> Europe 2020 Strategy

• A sector of around 6.7 million jobs and ± 3% of EU’s GDP, 3.8% of EU workforce

• A fast growing sector

What is ECIA

• Open platform with policymakers and business support organizations (28

partners, 12 countries)

• Aim: increasing role creative industries as a driver of the European

economy

• Via policy learning based on practice

• Runs from 1-1-2012 till 1-1-2015

Tasks of ECIA• Prepare policy recommendations with concrete masterplans to better support creative industries

• Important themes:

• Access to finance

• And of course…. Entrepreneurship!

• Analyze practices and benchmark
