Voice of the Community

• “This kind of local activism is what makes neighborhoods great. I love the idea of supporting locally produced food and other products.”

• “I love this idea for that space on Bryan. There are several yummy food options in that area (Jimmy’s, Bangkok City, Ravioli Factory, etc.) and this would complement them well and perhaps encourage others to join in the fun. It would be great to have a bakery and butcher and cafe over there too and a market might spur that to happen. Who knows? Maybe we could all buy bikes with little baskets and pretend we’re in Europe!”

For Potential Vendors

• Proposed space originally built as market with covered area for booths

• Convenient East Dallas location in proximity to neighborhood landmarks like Jimmy’s Food Store and Bangkok City, as well as adjacency to established historic neighborhoods

• Market will provide direct connection to urban consumers seeking fresh local goods

Logistics

• Target kickoff in October 2009

• Each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

• Marketing plan highlights: web presence, direct emails, Facebook, Twitter, local neighborhood newsletters
