Job Description
Cosmetics Formulation Team Manager
Responsible for delivery of Boots own cosmetic
products, and managing a team of Cosmetic
Formulation Scientists
Development of hundreds of products per year,
including No7 (e.g. Protect & Perfect Foundation),
17, Ruby & Millie and Natural Collection.
Work at fast pace, as part of a large project team.1.
Typical Activities
• Formulation of new products, and ensure they are fit for purpose, consumer friendly, safe and legal.
• Stability testing of products to determine their shelf life, and suitability for global markets.
• Scale up of lab scale formulations in to production batches, as a pilot plant, or a manufacturing trial in one of our factories.
• Interaction with customer services and marketing – unique to working within the retail sector.

• Every day is different
• Not sat at a desk or lab bench for any length of
time
• Work with a large number of people
• Pride in seeing products on the shelf, and seeing
the great PR from the celebrities who use our
products
