During this process I have learnt how to use a variety of new technology

programmes and I feel like I have personally developed my skills within

these from the preliminary task to the final product.

THE INTERNET

The internet played a big part in my research and certain websites such as

“find your tribe” helped me when it came to finding a particular target

audience for my magazine, and it helped me within narrowing my

results, and finding what my particular target audience of 15-24 year old

are interested in.

POWERPOINTS

Power Points were proven to be very effective when it came to my

evaluation, as it helped me present my work in a much more creative

way in which is more appealing to the eye.,as I could present everything

that is needed including relevant information and images in a clear and

precise way.

DIGITAL CAMERA

For all of my images within the task I used a digital camera, this helped

develop my photography skills, as I worked on doing a variety of shots

from low angle to high angle, and I also worked on close ups which

helped me to create the image for my double page spread.

PHOTOSHOP

Photoshop was used, however it didn’t have a major influence in my work,

because I wanted to represent my magazine as natural, with the artists

represented being the REAL product, and also so that the audience

could see that celebrities/artists really are just like them. However

Photoshop was used to remove certain things from the background of

the main image on the front cover, because it looked out of place and

wouldn’t had gone with the theme. It was also useful when it came to

cropping images and readjusting the size to them as it meant that each

precise thing would end up fitting perfectly. In Photoshop I also used

the magic wand tool and the lasso tool, I found this quite challenging

and had to have several goes at it before finally perfecting my image,

but initially I did not get on with that certain tool, but was fond of the

magic erasing tool in which it offered.

INDESIGN

InDesign played a big part in creating both my main and preliminary task.

The programme itself was new to me as I had never used it before, so it

took some time in locating things and getting to know what all the

individual tools on there were used for, however with time this came,

which meant that my final product was a lot better than the preliminary

one. In this programme I learnt how to change the style of the text, give

things a 3D effect/shadowing effect, how to images and create text

frames etc…

BLOGGER

I originally presented all my work on “Wix” however it was hard to operate

and the work was all coming up as links, which wasn’t very appealing to

the eye, so I converted to “Blogger” which I fount much more easier

and clearer to use, as I already had experience with it, it was great for

presenting my work, and it is clearer and easier for both myself and

other people viewing it to follow.

PAINT

Paint participated tremendously within my work as that was the only way I

could easily find my work to go up on the blog when I wanted to import

pictures etc… and the majority of my work was placed on a paint

document before finally being placed onto my Blog. I mainly used paint

not for the painting tool itself but for the cropping device in which it

offers!

SLIDESHARE

I used Slideshare when it came to downloading my PowerPoints, this is

quick and easy to follow, and all the PowerPoints I have created are

viewed through it. The only problem I found with this was that any

animation effects I added, such as the words flying on screen, and the

timing I had used on it did not work when it was imported onto

Slideshare, so my work did not appear as creative as I had originally

produced it.
