• Harris had worked for the magazine publishing business since the late 1950s.

• Harris Publications started with music, then transitioned into producing comics, and now has a range of areas (sports, lifestyle and mens magazines etc.).

• One of Harris Publications first successful and long-running titles was Guitar World, which was first published in the 80s, before selling the rights to Future US in 2003.

• XXL is an American hip hop magazine, published by Harris Publications and founded in 1997. In August of that year, XXL released its first issue.

• Other magazines with limited runs have been launched under the XXL brand, including Hip-Hop Soul, Eye Candy and Shade45.

• XXL has released many other special projects including tour programs, mix tapes and exclusive DVDs. XXL also has a popular website, which provides up to date hip hop news, original content from the magazine.

• XXL main target audience is for anyone who has a love of Hip Hop. XXL is a magazine that is aimed at African-American people between the ages of 18-40 year olds.

• Founded in 1985 by Chris Anderson, as a UK company with just one magazine.

• Future now specialises in high-quality multi-media products. Creating over 200 specialist publications, apps, websites and events.

• The idea was for one computer magazine, it’s now a international multi-platform media group.

• Future was sold to Pearson PLC for £52.7m in 1994, but bought it back in 1998 by Future chief executive for £142m.In 2001 Chris Anderson left Future PLC.

• In 2006, it was the ranked the sixth-largest media corporation in the United Kingdom. It publishes more than 180 magazines in fields such as video games, technology, automotive, cycling, films and photography.

• In March 2014, it was announced that the company's CFO Zillah Byng-Maddick would become the company's fourth CEO in nine years on 1 April 2014 after Mark Wood, CEO since 2011, stepped down.
