Feeling helpless, because we cannot find the state of being in whichwe want to be, interrupts positive learning from each of ourmistakes, inhibiting us to commit and move forward with greaterfirmness and determination to the state of mind we long for.Life presents us constantly with lessons and opportunities.Sometimes we need to break with what we have learned andbelieved to relearn from the inner truth and apply that certainty inthe most effective way in our present and future. What better timeto break the way we are habituated to act, than today?Apparently, Einstein was the one who advised: - "Do not pretendthat things will change if we keep doing the same thing. Crisis is thegreatest blessing that can happen to people and countries.”Ceramic tableware pretending to be porcelain, that breaks on thecanvas of appearances, and leaves evidence that we are notimported luxury items, we are human beings who repeat what wehave learned to survive without ever questioning why we always dothe same .So I affirm: - "It is better to break the rule rather than repeat thestandard that multiplies the pain of breakage" -.

Because maintaining the rule of appearances leads us to compete,criticize and gossip, repressing what we really are. Comparisons makepeople less creative, because usually they end up imitating thewinners. A mind that always judges is a mind that does not know howto observe the world inside out.Those who observe can break the habits that keep us tied to ourcircumstances. I am a hyperrealist painter who breaks the dishes ofappearances, because I believe that observing life without judgmentconnects us to our inner self and links us to the universe.If we break our bad habits, we can put the pieces together toreconnect with a new world of harmony, color and light.That is my intention from the brush and canvas and I wish that we allcould build integrity from cracks of fear and insecurity.I have no answers, but a mind open to breaking the preconceivedstructures in order to rebuild ourselves.

En lugar de sentir impotencia por no encontrarnos en el estado en el quequisiéramos estar, ¿no es más provechoso y positivo aprender de cadauno de nuestros errores, para no volver a cometerlos y avanzar con mayorfirmeza y determinación hacia ese estado que deseamos?La vida nos presenta constantemente lecciones y oportunidades paraaprender. A veces necesitamos romper con lo que hemos aprendido ycreído para reaprender desde la verdad interior y aplicar esa verdad de lamanera más efectiva en nuestro presente y futuro. ¿Qué mejor momentopara romper la manera en que estamos acostumbrados a actuar, que hoymismo?Dicen que fue Einstein quien dijo: -“No pretendamos que las cosascambien si siempre hacemos lo mismo. La crisis es la mejor bendición quepuede sucederle a personas y países”.Vajillas de cerámica aparentando ser porcelana, que rompo en el lienzo delas apariencias, para dejar evidencia de que no somos objetos importadosde lujo, somos seres humanos que repetimos lo que hemos aprendidopara sobrevivir, sin cuestionarnos jamás por qué siempre nos sucede lomismo.Por eso, yo digo: –“Es mejor romper con la norma antes que repetir lanorma que multiplica la fractura y el dolor”-.

Porque mantener la norma de aparentar, nos lleva a competir, criticar, hacer chismes, no nos permite SER. Las comparaciones hacen que las personas sean menos creativas, porque usualmente terminan imitando a los ganadores. Una mente que siempre juzga, es una mente que no sabe observar.Quien observa, puede romper con los hábitos que nos mantienen atados a nuestras circunstancias, por eso soy hiperrealista y rompo las vajillas de las apariencias, porque deseo observar sin calificar a nada ni a nadie, para aprender. Quien juzga, no sólo no aprende, sino que mantiene un hábito que le desconecta de su ser interior y su conexión con el Universo.Si rompemos con nuestros malos hábitos, podemos reunir las piezas hacia la reconexión con un nuevo mundo de unidad, color y luz.Esa es mi intención desde el pincel y el lienzo y deseo que todos nos reunamos a partir de las fracturas del miedo y la inseguridad.Yo no tengo las respuestas, pero sí la mente y el espíritu abierto para que rompiendo las estructuras preconcebidas, nos reconstruyamos.

The illusory aspect of reality in hyperrealisticpainting is a reflection of appearances wecherish in our consumer system. Bravo, Valle-Griffith and Edelmann can represent bypainting it, the perfect package and we all feelamazed by their pictorial mastery. However,what conceals or protects that perfectpackage?Karla declares along with Edelmann:"- We pack our reality with colored paper weconsider impeccable for the neighbor to thinkof us what we want him to believe we looklike. And the package is so intricate, with somany laps, wrinkles, moorings and ribbons andstickers in order to cheat "the other".Nevertheless, we are not capable of realizingthat our choice is the representation of apackage and not its content."-

Through this approach, Valle-Griffith beganher hyperrealistic art project, packing withfull color paper some fake pottery or amysterious content, because that is what ourconsumer choice culture represents in ourlives. Since I saw her packages along with thebroken and scattered pottery paintings, Irealized that her volition was to unpack thefragments of a pristine white porcelain,fractured by human inability to recognizevalue beyond appearances.Red, blue green or lavender brilliantbackgrounds, upon which disseminated piecesof broken ceramics lie at random. This Pop ArtStill Lives in which white broken potteryresemble the fragility of time and memory,that Karla describes as “an allusion tosomething beyond what is actually paintedand you very well know what it is.“

El aspecto ilusorio de la realidad en la pintura hiperrealista, es un reflejo de las apariencias que tanto apreciamos en nuestro sistema de vida consumista. Claudio Bravo, Edelmann o Valle-Griffith pueden pintar un paquete perfecto, y todos nos asombramos por la maestría que demuestran en su trabajo pictórico. ¿Pero qué ocultao protege ese paqueteperfecto?

Karla declara con Edelmann:“- empacamos nuestra realidad con aparienciasque consideramos perfectamente logradas paraque el vecino piense de nosotros lo que nosotrosqueremos parecer… y el paquete es tan intrincado,con tantas vueltas, arrugas, amarres y cintasengomadas, que logramos disuadir “al otro” deque así somos… no somos capaces de darnoscuenta que elegimos ser la representación de unpaquete y no su contenido”-.

Es así como Valle-Griffith inicia su proyectohiperrealista, empacando a todo color uncontenido desconocido o una porcelana falsa,porque eso es lo que hace la cultura de mercadoen nuestras vidas. Desde que vi sus paquetesaparejados a la porcelana quebrada ydesperdigada, me di cuenta que su volición es lade desempacar los fragmentos de nuestras vidas,que han sido fracturados por la incapacidadhumana de reconocerse más allá de lasapariencias.
