The main Limousin colors.

Green and blue are the real one, because of quantity of trees, forests, countryside due to water : rain, rivers, lakes. The old grey stones are the other part of our paths.

We are happy to offer you three different colored travels :

Green walk : Sounds gardenThe sounds garden in the Castle of La Borie make you discover the landscape by hearing it. The pond reflects the sounds, the labyrinth is a playground for noise, waterfalls and meadows make clink instruments and porcelain flowers.

Tourbière des Dauges

32,2 km far away from Limoges in the municipality of Saint Léger La Montagne, this particular wet landscape was discovered in 1970. Its form draws a bowl shape with a cone. Protected plants, frogs and animals are the custodians of this land.

Grey walk : the Megalith path In the monts de Blond (Blond mountains), you can

have a walk in a fairy and old druidic times country.

The megalith path is a 11km and 2 h 30 walk, signed in yellow.

The rickety rock of Boscartus

This rock weights 120 tons and is only in contact with ground by a very few points.

Fairy stonesOn the road D. 204, at the south of the Fromental pond, a sign indicates a walking path that leads to "Rocks Fairies" and "Pas de la Mule." The shelter is located between large boulders. Recent excavations have shown that the shelter had experienced a long prehistoric occupation.

Fairy Rock The remains and discoveries structures attest its use

since the late Magdalenian to the Bronze Age (from 10 000 to 1800 BC), first as a house and as a necropolis. According to the legend, this impressive chaos would be ruins of an ancient fairies palace.

The dolmen of La Borderie

The table measured 5x4m. This dolmen was used in the ancient Neolithic times (- 3500 B.C.) then used a second time -2000 B.C.

The Vassivière Lake

Vassivière Lake This lake, one of France's largest lakes, is a large man-

made reservoir of about 10 square kilometres (2,500 acres). It is situated on the Plateau de Millevaches, at the middle point of the Limousin, parted between the Haute-Vienne, the Creuse and the Corrèze. It is the largest area of water in the Limousin region of France and provides water supplies, hydroelectricity, and leisure facilities.

Murat pond : the most ancient.

Based in the municipality of Saint-Léger-Magnazeix, this pond was already here in the XVth century. Well known of birds watchers, this pond is a natural reserve for a lot of various birds who nest here or have a rest during the migration.

Gimel cascade

Gimel waterfalls are one of the main tourist attractions of the Limousin. This is a series of three waterfalls on the Montane, a tributary of the Corrèze river, located in the municipality of Gimel-les-Cascades, 11 kilometers at the northeast of Tulle and 100 at the south of Limoges. The site, was recognized in 1912 as an official natural site, one of the first in France.

This is the first one called le Grand Saut : the big falls.
