Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking can be used as a knowledge management system for individuals and groups. It is a powerful research and annotation tool that is searchable, shareable, and accessible from any computer.

How does Social Bookmarking Work?

Discover web pages of interest by tag searches, friends, and serendipity

Add page to social bookmark site Add tags to page with words chosen by

the user to describe the page Follow tags to discover other pages and

users with the same interests Share and/or collaborate with others

Tagging

Tags are words that the user chooses that tell about the main points or subject of the webpage

Tags are used in many of the social networking, Web 2.0 programs

Tags can be viewed by loooking at tag clouds and tag bundles

Tags may be put onto your own webpages or blogs
