At midday in July, four children: Kostis, Ourania, Helen and Bill, gathered in the playground and argued about what game they

wanted to play. Someone suggested hide and seek, chase, hopscotch or relay race.

Everyone insisted on playing the game which he or she had suggested. One hour passed arguing and at the end they were flushed from all the arguing and loud voices.

While they continued to quarrel, it started to drizzle. Then they all got angry because the time passed and

they didn’t play anything. Each child blamed the other.

By that time it was raining cats and dogs and the children had lost their voices, because of the

quarrelling.

Due to the heavy rain, their mothers decided to meet in Bill’s house to resolve the angrily

disagreement.

Children left angrily the playground. When they arrived to Bill’s house they went in his room. They didn’t talk to

each other and sat at different places in the room.

As they were sitting down, Helen stood up and said: “Remember what happened with our stubbornness in the playground. We argued and got very upset. So let’s forget what’s happened. Let’s be friends again and play

calmly.

So they decided to play a board game. When the game finished, Ourania said: “I’m bored. I can’t

bear to stay indoors anymore”.

Kostis went to the window and saw that the sun came out from the clouds. He told his friends, they were so happy and they went outdoors

excitedly.

They promised each other not to waste their time being stubbornness and disagreeing anymore, but to

play fairly all the games in the row as they had suggested. It’s good to respect each other.
