What do we do?

We design learning experiences

Turning boring classrooms……

Into labs for discovery

We want our students to gain one key insight...

The world is malleable

And they can reshape it

Provided they gain the right skills

But what are the right skills?

We think there are 3 important skills

Let's talk about STEAM

Good grades used to be the ticket to success...

...but the 21st Century demands innovation

Innovation is rearranging and connecting dots across disciplines...

That is why we don't teach Just ScienceJust ComputingJust ArtJust Mathematics

Instead we encourage interdisciplinary thinking

We create challenges that run on STEAM

Here's one challenge we give our students:

Build a musical instrument

That takes STEAM

Science - vibration, resonance, amplitude, frequency

Technology - frequency measuring apps, cutting tools

Engineering - choose the right material, precision in cutting

Arts - music theory, notes, performance

Mathematics - calculate frequency-wavelength relations

Let's talk about Making

Knowledge is power only when you know how to use it

A simple crowbar turns the abstraction of geometry into a usable simple machine.

But how do you assess if somebody is learning how to use knowledge?

We don't have exams. We don't issue grades.

We assess our students through the projects they make.

How do you prepare students for jobs that don't yet exist?

To use technology that does not yet exist?

For a future that does not yet exist?

We give them the skills to invent the future

...and that means training them in

which includes

Our classes teach TMPI

THINK

MAKE

PLAY

IMPROVE

A thinking process that lets you create something from nothing

So…• We promote

INNOVATION CREATIVITY IMAGINATION
