Federico Garcia Lorca was a Spanish poet, dramatist, painter, pianist and composer. He was born on 5th June 1898 in Fuente Vaqueros, a small town near Granada.

When he was a child, he liked music and poetry.

He studied law at Sacred Heart University in Granada. Then he studied writing at the University in Madrid.

 

His father, Federico García Rodríguez, was a rich landowner.

His mother, Vicenta Lorca Romero, was a teacher and pianist.

In 1909, when Federico was 11, his family moved to the city of Granada.

He died on 19th August 1936 in Viznar (Granada).

He was arrested and executed during the Spanish Civil War.
