Announcements
The “Backpack Buddies” program is an ongoing ministry KBC has with Knightdale Elementary School. We provide a plastic bag filled with food items to help get a hungry child through the weekend who might not otherwise get a meal until they return to school again on Monday morning. Please help us with this ministry by contributing food items to help a hungry child in our town. Current needs: Thank you for all your donations for canned vegetables! We currently have a need for fruits (small cans or soft packs) and soft packs of applesauce, as well as breakfast items (cereal bars, individual boxes of cereal, pop-tarts, or oatmeal). Your donations are greatly appreciated! Discipleship Team Meeting - Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 pm in the Parlor. Finance Committee Meeting - Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. We hope you can come and experience God’s work through KBC. Eight Days of Hope - May 26th-June 2nd. Eight Days of Hope will be helping 285+ homeowners of New Bern, (Pamlico County) NC rebuild after Hurricane Irene. They are looking for volunteers. The KBC Mission Team is planning on helping and we need you too! We know you are thinking this is Memorial Day weekend, but think about the families who have been living in tents and FEMA trailers since Irene hit this past August. And FEMA has instructed the homeowners they will be taking back the trailers at the end of May so they can prepare them for the next disaster. We will be leaving late Friday, May 25th and returning Monday, May 28th. We will be doing construction work, debris clean up, etc. Please see Robin Farrington for more information.
Announcements
Stop Hunger Now - KBC is hosting a packaging event for Stop Hunger Now. The organization provides small meal packages to support school feeding programs and crisis relief around the world. They provide all the necessary material. We just need to provide the volunteers and a small cost of 25 cents per meal. We began our “Quarter Drive for Hunger” last Sunday. So, bring your quarters to church and place them in the appropriate container and let’s watch whose jug gets filled first - KBC Kids vs. KBC Adults! Will it be the KBC Kids or KBC Adults? Our goal is 10,000 meals! Hearing Devices available - Knightdale Baptist Church now has personal amplifiers available to individuals who have hearing difficulties. These devices will not help those with nerve deafness, but may help a significant number of persons attending our church. Devices can be picked up from Sam Maise in the Conference Room each Sunday before Sunday School or the worship service. Devices are returned to a basket in the Conference Room before worship or to a basket in the vestibule after worship. The church will maintain these devices by supplying the batteries and cleaning. Each device is numbered so that we can detect those that may malfunction and need replacement. Should the device malfunction while you are using it please let us know by: 1) Tearing off the “Welcome Guest” slip in your bulletin, 2) Make a note on the slip as to the problem and, 3) Wrap it around the device before turning it in. Missions Night - It’s that time of year again to let everyone know what your group has been doing this year. This includes Mission Friends, GA’s, RA’s, Youth, Weathers/Knight WMU Circle, BALL Club, Angelic Ministers WMU Circle, etc. Come share with us! If you would like to show posters, projects, or even sing a song - come on and share! We will begin Missions Night on Wednesday, May 30th, with a hotdog supper, served with chips and all the fixings. Supper will be from 5:30-6:30 pm and the mission program will begin at 6:45 pm. So come see what everyone has done this past year!

Also, if you have a change in the schedule for the children’s nursery or children’s church, please contact the monthly coordinator so that the change can be made prior to the printing of the worship bulletin. However, any permanent changes in the schedule should continue to be handled by the lead coordinator.
Thank you for all your help.
Attention KBC Parents: If you have a child participating in children’s worship, please make sure they are picked up at the end of the church service by a parent or adult. The children’s worship leaders will only allow children to be picked up by a parent or adult from the nursery, toddler, 2-3 year old, 4-5 year old, or 6-7 year old classrooms. We love our children at KBC and want to ensure their safety!
