Saturday, April 14th from 1:00-3:00Mission Museum’s Edwardian Garden Opening! If you haven’t checked out the garden around the museum lately, you are in for a pleasant surprise! The weeds, grass, blackberries and unmentionables have been transformed into a tranquil garden with a brick lined meandering path. Amongst the new plants are two industrial sewing machines that had been hidden in the previous disarray of the museum grounds. The garden showcases our wonderful Museum, a historic buildings built in 1907, constructed during the Edwardian era.
This large project has been a joint venture between local Gorilla Gardener, Heidi Smith, the Mission District Historical Society, Peggy Jessome of Idea Garden Designs, gardening volunteers and the local community, including the Mission Community Foundation, all of which generously funded the garden with over $2,500 in cash or ‘in kind’ donations. Everyone will be recognized in a ‘recognition book,’ which will be held inside the Museum. All are welcome to explore the garden and the museum!
If you are interested in this project and others, please visit the Mission District Historical Society’s website atwww.missiondhs.com for more information.

Gary Comeau & the Voodoo Allstars Saturday, March 3 8:00pm Hot and spicy Louisiana inspired New Orleans-style rockin’ roots and blues. Gary Comeau is a singer-songwriter and musician of unique diversity and talent. Gary’s own roots are French-Acadian - he was born and raised in Nova Scotia - his soul seems to have taken a long and inspiring detour through Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta.
Tim Readman & Out of the Green Saturday, March 17 8:00pm Something with Celtic roots for St Patrick’s Day. Geordies, the people of northeast England, have a particular liking for songs that tell stories. Tim Readman, who hails from Newcastle, certainly has a keen nose for a good yarn and with Out Of The Green, he offers an eclectic collection of traditional and contemporary folksongs from England, Scotland and Ireland.
Jesse Peters Trio Saturday, April 14 8:00pmJesse Peters has been a force in the Canadian music scene since 1998; his piano playing, singing and song writing have gained attention across the country. His music has been described as jazz-edged soul, smooth like a good scotch.
All shows take place in the Memorial Hall, Harrison Hot Springs. Tickets and more information are available by phone at 604 796-3664 and online at www.harrisonfestival.com.

Earl & Monica Reid. “In August, my wife and I moved to Mission. We are both retired people with some health issues- I have so many we joke about which ones I really want to deal with. About a week after arriving in Mission my wife went to walk along 1st Ave, in Downtown. She came upon this health store, FUEL Supplements and Vitamins. She has never gone into one like that before but for some reason she was drawn into it and I am glad she did. We met the owner, Dolf. He is an amazing young man that showed us things we could do to improve our health; like, drinking alkaline water and eating a proper diet. My health has improved remarkably and still continues to. You feel better just walking into Dolf’s store. Thanks to Dolf I feel like a new man. My wife and I will be forever grateful. The combination of the alkaline water, light therapy and proper nutrition has changed our lives. Thank you Dolf. God Bless You.” ...Earl & Monica Reid

DarlaSeven year old Darla has been at our shelter for 3 years now and is pretty spunky these days. She loves to be petted and really enjoys chasing a laser light on a slippery floor. Do you have a permanent home for Darla where you can give her the playtime she desires?
ToniTony was a stray and very hungry so brought into the FVHS over a year ago. She is about 5½ years old, spayed and up to date with her shots. She is rather hesitant trusting new people and needs a patient and understanding owner who will love her even when she wants to be left alone. Can you help Toni learn to be more tolerant and give her that caring, forever home she deserves?

March 12th Sunday 8 pmCircle Mirror Transformationby Annie BakerDirector Nicola Cavendish Join the Circle; Make a ChangeIn small town, Shirley, Vermont, an unlikely collection of strangers sign up for Marty’s “Adult Creative Drama” class: a recently divorced carpenter, a high school junior, a former actress, and Marty’s husband. With the quirky dialogue and pacing of a charming indie film, the group explores its theatrical side though imaginative (yet awkward) theatre games. But as everyone becomes closer, the seemingly silly games result in real-life drama.
