Private water
Private water: water which community dig by
themselves
Due to poor water distribution, manycommunities choose to find their own water
sources. The sources are: Well, Mota Pompa,
River water and ect
Some even illegally get their water(leakage)

So where does wastewater goes?
In Timor Leste, as far as I know, there are no
Sewage Treatment Plants(STP) so all of thecommunity discharge their wastewater to:
Septic Tank
Canal
Rivers
And ended up in Dili Sea

Recommendation All the water treatment process requires power supply but in Dili there is
always power bleak out hence it recommend to have their own backup
power supply Inside rapid sand filter, they need include adsorption layer (activated
carbon) to remove dissolved organics
Sludge from sedimentation tank need to have proper disposal ordewatering instead of discharge directly back to river
Community can have another option for source of water: Rain WaterHarvesting
Improve water and irrigation canal in Dili
Law enforcement to prevent river and canal pollution
Construct Sewage treatment plant
Law and regulation enforcement
Public awareness
