TGZ Building Dessau-Roßlau 04.08.2014

The first day in Dessau-Roßlau started with a lot of rain, but finally all participants got to know each other in the TGZ

Building and listened to the first lectures.

Official Opening Event of the ISU 2014 in the Federal Environment Agency 05.08.2014

Interesting lectures and a special guided tour through the impressive Federal Environment Agency Building have been on the agenda at

the second day.

The students got impressions how a biogas plant works and could also take a look inside.

On the last day during the first week in Dessau-Roßlau the ISU participants got to know a little

bit more about the work of the municipal utilities in this town. They also got a guided

tour and had the chance to take a look behind the scene.

During the visit of the sewage plant in Dessau-Roßlau the students got interesting impressions about the facilities and how the plant works.

The dimensions were impressive.

On this day the ISU-students were brought to the fields and could get an

impression of the dimension of the plantage and got interesting

information about the different plants and how they are used.

The visit of the Technic Museum Hugo Junkers

was an impressive experience for everybody. The

participants got to know a lot of

interesting details from the enthusiastic guides who showed the group

around.

In the Teutloff Competence Center in Barby the participants heard some interesting aspects about the work which is done there and

got a guided tour through the institution.

Excursion to Fraunhofer-Institut IFF in Magdeburg 13.08.2014

The excursion to the Fraunhofer-Institut in Magdeburg was one of the highlights during the ISU 2014. The

dedicated employees of the institut gave a lot of information about the researches which

are done there .

The students could ask a lot of questions and saw many interesting

experiments and examples. Among

others an electric car.

Enjoying Free Time

Between the lectures the international

students had enough time to discover

Germany a little bit more.

Business Game in University of Applied Science Harz 20.08.2014

In an exciting and interesting business

game concerning renewable energies the students could test and show what they have

already learned.

Only listening to lectures can be boring

after some time. Testing things

themselves makes even more fun. That is why the students could take part in different experiments at the

University of Applied Sciences Harz in

Wernigerode.

Excursion to Dam in Wendefurth 21.08.2014

A lot of renewable energies can be found

in the Harz region, where the students

spent the last 2 weeks of the ISU. Taking a

look inside a very big dam was the first part of an excursion in the

Harz mountains.

Second part of the excursion in the Harz

mountains was a guided tour through

the “Oberharzer Wasserregal“ which has

a lot of interesting history to discover.

At the end of the ISU 2014 also the students

held some lectures about free chosen topics concerning

renewable energies.

participants could show their knowledge about the three weeks topic and get some good

grades for their studies.
