DEGREE PROGRAMS

• Civil Engineering, 8 track options in the major (Not usually added right away, so you have time!)

• Environmental Engineering

• Both majors: Take the FE Exam during the semester you graduate. After 4 years of experience under a licensed engineer, take PE exam. Usually a promotion and pay raise at this time.

ADVISING: ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help you with your degree plan, courses, and graduation requirements.

• Process paperwork for Q-drops, Minor forms, etc.

• Help with academic issues, professors, or personal concerns, and inform you of campus resources in case additional assistance is needed.

• Be a resource for you!

ADVISING: STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be knowledgeable and responsible for your own degree plan and the tools for you to plan your courses.

• Email, or make an appointment when you have questions. (Plan early for busy times such as pre-registration.)

• Schedule appointments 24 hours in advance or come to our Walk In hours Mon-Thurs from 1-4pm (Expect a wait during busy times).

• TALK to your advisor, your professor, and campus resources if you are struggling.

• Additional advising resources available on the “CVEN & EVEN Information” Page on Ecampus.

• Check your TAMU email and Howdy. Every day. This is not a joke, and is essential for success in your college and professional careers.

PREREGISTRATION ADVISING & HOWDY DEGREE PLANNER1. Our department has REQUIRED advising before you

register every semester.

2. Rule enforced each fall and spring semester with a departmental registration hold.

3. The university adds an additional Howdy Degree Planner hold each fall. We clear both holds together.

This fall we will have Information Sessions for both the Pre-Registration Advising Process and Howdy Degree

Planner.

• Research community college classes early. Some courses have prerequisites and fill up quickly.

• Admissions.tamu.edu Transfer Transfer Course Equivalency

• We cannot find these classes for you, and do not have access to class availability, schedules, or prerequisite requirements for other colleges.

• Send official transcript to A&M Admissions, NOT US.

If you have not submitted final dual credit/transfer transcripts or AP Scores, make sure you do not sign up for classes you

already have credit for. We can only account for classes currently in Howdy.

• Start Strong! Maximize your major experience, GPA, and transition to TAMU

• We know the catalog says 18 hours per semester. Most students take 12-15.

• This is a 128hr degree plan

• For CVEN, courses for each track are the same through mid-third year

• Use your flowchart! (found in Ecampus) and the course catalog at catalog.tamu.edu

• Courses will say Web Registered instead of Pending when you have successfully saved and registered. You can create a Registration Worksheet (Instructions in Ecampus) to make registration faster.

• Pay attention to any Error Messages.

• Make sure you have completed your Lab Safety Acknowledgement and taken care of any registration holds on your account.

• Check all course restrictions and prerequisites.
