1: Shared ResponsibilityThe Ministry of Education and services share responsibility for information collected in ELI.

– The Ministry of Education is responsible for using the information for educational research, statistics, and monitoring purposes only.

–The ECE service agrees to take responsibility for information sent through ELI.

2: Accuracy & AccessService provider confirms that data is accurate.

– Services will be able to review all information submitted to ELI through a web-based reporting portal.

– Ministry to report on ‘confirmed’ information only.

3: Clarity on what is required and why

– Ministry will state information requirements clearly.

– Services agree to meet stated requirements.

4: Up-to-date Information

– Services will submit information within the required timeframes.

– Ministry will consult and provide warning of any change to timeframes.

5: Ability to Correct ErrorsInformation may need to be

corrected, this is supported by the ELI system.

– The Ministry will approach the service when an error is identified.

– The service will correct agreed errors.

–The service may correct errors at any time.

6: Limits on ELI Use

– All personal information sent to ELI is subject to the Privacy Act

– Any changes require consultation

– Access to ELI and NSI to be limited to authorised persons

7: Interaction between the services and the Ministry

is improved
