IC4A / ECAC Championships
Meet Preview:
The indoor season comes to close with the granddaddy of post season meets with the runnin
of the IC4A Championships at Boston University and the ECAC Championships at the Reggie
Lewis Center.
After winning two events at the America East Championships in the shot put and weight thro
former All-East performer Amanda Deller will return to the circle in both events. However, he
best chance for a top three performance lies in the shot put, where she is currently ranked
seventh amongst the whole ECAC region stretching from Virginia to Maine.
Sitting sixth in the 60m Dash and eighth in the 200m dash is the America East Rookie of the YMercedes Jackson. In the course of one season she has taken a hammer to the record books
and taken over possession of the school records in both events. Still in range of the National
meet, she appears to be on the path either this year or next year.
Also watch out for the womens 4x400 meter relay that has re-broken the school record on
three separate occasions and will have an opportunity to run it fresher than they have all yea
On the mens side, Trae Proctor is ranked fourteenth in the IC4A Region in the 60 meter hurd
after winning his second consecutive Indoor America East Championships, despite being
hampered by a hamstring injury. With two weeks to heal up and tougher competition, he loo
poised to dip under the eight second barrier.
Cameron McDearmon also has an outside chance at an All-East Performance in the weight
throw where currently sits fifteenth in the IC4A rankings. He will be joined by Chris Nash in th
weight and will join Aaron Brooks in the shot.
Amanda Deller:
Having never lost an America East Championship in
the shot put coming into the year, Deller looked to
continue her dominance. Not only did she bring
home her fifth consecutive title, but she expanded
her repertoire by winning the weight throw as
well. For her efforts she was awarded Most
Outstanding Field Performer.
