Tips and Suggestions: 1. If possible, design custom layout around off-the-shelf standard mats (more affordable). Be clear on concept: "Do sketch dimensions include trim?" If customer layout sketch dimensions do not include trim, then overall dims increase by width of trim. If sketch dims are max (and do include trim), then mat size "shrinks" by width of trim. See Page 8. 2. Be sure to specify unit of measurement: inch, feet, mm, cm, etc. 3.Trim vs. No Trim. Trim is recommended. It secures mats to floor and ramp prevents tripping. 4. Multi-mat layouts require joining trim, creating a "dimensional space" of 1.41" between top mat surfaces. But "Active" Joining Trim design allows for seamless activation across mat "gaps". 5. Perimeter Trim Types: TKM: Ramp Trim, "Active", Alum Base & PVC Cover w/Mitered Corners. TKAT: Ramp Trim, "Active", Two-Part Aluminum with Mitered Corners. TKC: Perimeter Ramp Trim, "Active", Alum Base & PVC Cover w/ Molded Corners. TKA: Ramp Trim, "Not-Active", One-Part Aluminum with Mitered Corners. TKB: Blunt Trim, "Not-Active", One-Part Aluminum with Mitered Corners. Blunt Trim should only be used on mat sides without foot traffic; may create tripping hazard. 6. Mats should not be smaller than 10". 7. See pages 15 & 18 if user wants to buy bulk and machine their own trim.
