How to Create a YouTube Account:

1. Visit www.youtube.com in order to get started.

Before you sign up for YouTube know this:

-When you create a YouTube account you are also creating a gmail account. This will show as (YouTube username)@gmail.com

-When creating a YouTube account you are also creating a Google+ account. Google+ is a social network for Google, similar to Facebook. You will adjust your settings in the Google+ tab at the top of your browser when you log into YouTube or Gmail.

-What you do on YouTube is separate from your Google’s sister sites. If you post to YouTube it will not be shown on Google+.

2. Click on the ‘Sign in’ button in the upper-right corner of the YouTube homepage.

3. Click on the ‘Create an account’ in blue, under the area to sign in.

-If you already have a Gmail account, you should have a YouTube account. You can use your Gmail username and password to log into YouTube.

4. Fill out the necessary information.

-Fill out your e-mail address, user name, date of birth, gender, and then click ‘I Accept’.

5. Supply a phone number for verification that you are not a machine, if prompted.

-This is done so YouTube can cut down on fake accounts managed by computers. Google may make you provide verification.

6. Type in the verification code, if needed.

7. Personalize your YouTube channel. On your profile page you can add a profile picture and unique background to showcase yourself.
