Note: The BINDT PCN VA Level 1 Exam may be taken immediately after the training, but the certificate will only be awarded after 6 months relevant logged VA experience.

Course Content:
Noise Attenuation Sound absorption, sound transmission loss, selecting appropriate materials for noise control.
Basic Noise Theory A thorough explanation of acoustics terminology. The mechanisms of the human ear and a conceptual design of noise level meters is used to illustrate acoustics terminology including dB, the A-weighting curve, noise spectra Lp and Lw.
Measurement Techniques An explanation of simple noise measurement techniques Lp, Leq, octave bands, narrow band, near field, far field and uncertainty calculations.
Spectral Analysis Identification of noise sources using spectral characteristics use of existing noise test data to distinguish main contributors to overall noise level.
Compliance Overview NTCFs, NBERsand2000/14/EC. Requirements of the Outdoor Noise Directive, the paper trail & achieving continuing compliance.
