The Most Holy Trinity

This Week in Our Parish

Saint Joseph be praised--all Scheduled Public Masses are now being celebrated--other Parish liturgical activities are still on hold until further notice. -The Main Church is open 7 Days a Week -The temporary Chapel in Hammond Hall is Closed NOTE: 9am Masses are still being recorded for those who cannot attend Holy Mass.

(Please wear a mask and wash your hands thoroughly before entering church. Please maintain social distancing. We

undertake all these measures, in an abundance of caution, for your safety).

You should pray for the intercession of the Saints to help protect you from illness, particularly St. Blase, whose feast day is February 3rd.

“O glorious Saint Blase, who by thy martyrdom did leave to the church a precious witness to the faith,

obtain for us the grace to preserve within ourselves this Divine gift, and to defend, without human respect, both

by word and example, the truth of that same faith, which is so wickedly attacked and slandered in these our times. You did miraculously restore a little child when he was at the point of death by reason of an

affliction of the throat, grant us thy mighty protection in like misfortunes; and, above all, obtained for us the

grace of Christian mortification together with a faithful observance of the precepts of the Church, which may

keep us from offending almighty God. Amen.

Along with prayer, please use prudence and caution during this flu season. May our Lord, through the intercession of the Saints, protect you and keep you! Fr. Gripshover

New Catholic College Students. Attention Class of 2020: The Associates of St. John Bosco invites rising college freshmen to attend a College Night at one of the following parishes:

St. Mark - Vienna: July 9 St. Mary - Alexandria: July 22

St. Mary - Fredericksburg: July 29

College Nights are free to all students and provide resources and support for keeping your Catholic faith when entering college this fall. Catholic student representatives from George Mason, UVA, the University of Mary Washington, William & Mary, Virginia Tech, and other private and public schools will be on hand to share their experiences of being a Catholic college student. This is an excellent opportunity to network with other Catholic students and to receive resources for the transition to college only a few months away. The Nights begin at 7:00 PM, and students are encouraged to wear their college t-shirt to the event! To register for one of the College Nights and for additional information, visit our website at www.asjb.org. Registration is limited to 50 students per night. ** Our College Nights will be held according to all Virginia Covid-19 Guidelines for social distancing and group size.

PHASE 1 Social Distancing Measures. To protect you, and in an over-abundance of caution, we are taking visible measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, some are:

-No hymnals/missalettes in pews -No passing of collection baskets (see the "offering" Bucket near exits of Church--see picture below)

-Limited singing in Mass -No exchange of the sign of peace

-Marked lines in aisles for social distancing in Communion lines (see picture above) -Every other pew roped off for social distancing (see picture above)

-Modified distribution of Communion -Post Mass wiping of pews and door handles in Church

also to those who donated a significant portion of their check re-ceived from the COVID stimulus legislation when they were not in need of it/a portion of it in their particular financial circumstances!

A Gentle Reality Check about Supporting Your Church During the Pandemic Our great parishioners have always been generous and practical. Don’t forget your support for

HELP "Usher" in the New Narthex. Ladies and Gentlemen--the parish is in particular need of ushers to serve at the Saturday 5:00 pm Vigil Mass and the 9:00 am Sunday Mass. If you normally attend either of these Masses, please consider helping with this important ministry. We really need a commitment for regular, weekly ushers, but if you cannot serve every week, please consider if you could back-up our regular ushers who have to be absent from time to time.

If you are interested, please see one of the ushers at the Mass or call the Head of the Usher Program, Dave Hurley at 703-921-2502 or email headusher@kofc9407.org

Angelus Academy is currently accepting resumes for part-time teachers of art, music/choir, and Spanish and for a part-time preschool aide. Please contact Mrs. Vivian Zini, Director of School Mission,
