What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Adobe Photoshop

• Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing programme• I’ve learnt that it can be used to cut, edit, and create images in a variety of

ways.• I’ve also learnt how to use and select different layers to create depth and a

look of professionalism in my magazine.• I’ve learnt how to use the quick selection tool to select and deselect certain

parts of my images that I wanted to add an effect to. For example, on my double page spread I deselected Jenni’s hair when turning the image black and white so her hair was left purple.

• I’ve also learnt how to use brightness and contrast to adjust my images and enhance certain aspects of the image.

• Another thing I have learnt to do is how to create new layers and move them around so that I can put text in front of shapes etc.

• Using this technology has benefited my product by creating effects and depth throughout each page furthermore making my magazine look more professional.

InDesign• I’ve learnt how to create a magazine layout and set guidelines for columns etc. • I’ve learnt how to create text boxes and boxes appropriate for inserting

images.• I’ve learnt how to create shapes and arrange them to go behind text to look

like a professional masthead• I’ve learnt how to rotate shapes to make my magazine look more professional. • I’ve learnt how to change the background colour so my magazine looks more

professional.• I’ve learnt how to put a stroke on text so that the text looks more professional

and stands out more catching potential customer’s attention.• Using this programme has ensured that my magazine follows a neat and

professional looking magazine lay out to make my product look more authentic as well as professional.

Blogspot• I’ve found that www.blogspot.com was very useful in displaying all

my work throughout the production and evaluation of my products. • I’ve learnt how to successfully create and upload a blog post.• I’ve learnt how to insert embed links into my blog so I can include

things such as prezis, slideshares, glogster mood boards, and pixton comics etc.

• I’ve also learnt how to insert image into my blog posts along side text so I can illustrate my point through out my production and evaluation of my product.

• I also learnt how to change my privacy settings so only my teachers can read my blog and no-one else who might copy my work.

Prezi• I have found www.prezi.com was useful as it was an easy and

simple way to display all my work or research. • I’ve learnt how to create a new prezi and title it etc.• I’ve learnt how to insert text in different fonts and sizes.• I’ve learnt how to add frames around my text and image to create

a slide.• I’ve learnt how to edit the path and link the slides together in a

specific order.• I’ve learnt how to insert images and crop them to focus on certain

parts of the image appropriate to the point I’m trying to make. • I’ve learnt how to insert arrows to also focus on certain parts of

the image.

Slideshare• www.slideshare.com was very useful in giving me the ability to upload my

power points onto my blog and display my work in a different way. • I learnt how to produce slideshows and upload them to this website • I also learnt how to insert the embed link of the uploaded slideshows into

my blog so my work was all on my blog.• I found slideshare easy to use as it is works like many other websites in

selecting and uploading a file and then copying that code into my blog.

Camera and Lighting• Learning to use a professional camera during the production of my

magazine was vital as so much of my product relied heavily on having a good image.

• I learnt how to use a professional camera • I’ve learnt how to angle my models to work with the lighting and make the

image look more professional.

Mac computer

• Before I produced my final product, I had only used a Mac computer during my print prelim.

• Learnt how to open a variety of programs • Learnt how to save and open an image• I also learnt how to save my product in

InDesign or Photoshop as a JPEG.

Pixton

• I found Pixton useful in creating a comic strip to illustrate the production process when answering an evaluation question.

• I learnt how to create a comic strip • I learnt how to publish and copy the embed

link of this comic strip into my blog so I could display it in my work.
