Introduction to Seva Mela Seva Mela is a two day event being organized at Hyderabad since the year 2010, during the Joy of Giving
Week or Daan Utsav celebrated during the week from 2nd to 8th of October, to provide an interface

more than 100 NPOs, which cover a wide range of social causes like Education, Health, Environment,
Old Age, Disabled, Shelterless, Women and Child Welfare. SevaMela connects People and
Organisations, to Non Profit Organisations (NPOs) working on Social Causes. The format of Seva Mela
is designed to enable fruitful interactions between Volunteers/Donors and NPOs, so that it may inspire
many to volunteer and support the social causes pursued by the NPOs. Volunteers and Donors visiting
Seva Mela are welcome to see the list of participating NPOs on YouSee’s page and commit and
contribute to the volunteer opportunities and in-kind donation requests posted by the NPOs. Cultural

Non Profit Organizations (NPOs) and
Public. The event gave an opportunity for

activities taken up by them to serve the

Food stalls were also arranged by the

food options. A variety of cultural
programs such as music programs, small

Hyderabad organised 2 workshops for
the participating NPOs. The first workshop was on using desktop office tools and the second workshop
was on creating understanding of the new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) guidelines in the
Companies Act and its opportunities for the NPOs.
To encourage giving in-kind, the Rice

Resources for the Event The event was managed with very limited financial resources and this was possible on account of
generous InKind contributions made by several Individual and Corporate donors, some of whom are
mentioned here. The Atlanta Foundation provided their Standees for display of outdoor publicity about
the event at the Venue. Hitex Exhibition Center offered the place along with all their spacious common
facilities at a very low and nominal price, details of which are shared in the financial section of this
report, making it possible to hold such a large event of this kind with a very small budget. Namdhari
Exhibit Systems provided the entire infrastructure for stalls and stage at a very reasonable cost in the
spirit of joy of giving.
The following expenses were incurred by United Care Development Services in Organising the Seva
Mela 2014. All the Vendors and Services providers volunteered to charge nominal amounts for providing
services in organising the event. This, coupled with a lot of in Kind Contributions has enabled such a
large event as Seva Mela to be organised on a very small budget. The organising team and volunteer’s
appreciate the gesture made by all the service providers:
