A very well known conspiracy is Area 51 capturing aliens that landed on Earth.

The aliens would have come back for their friends and possibly be angry, yet there has been no act of aggression or any act at all for that matter, from another planet.

The government would not hide the discovery of alien life from us. It is against government policy and it would leak too quickly and easily.

For example, SETI once thought it discovered and alien signal, and word spread like wildfire. Then later, it was discovered if was from our planet.

The government WISHES it had aliens to dissect and research. There are many things it cannot confirm OR deny about what they do, which is why they never comment about it.
