Submitted Proposal

1. Not in Standard Templet provided by MoUD

2. Depends on Special Status State (90:10 funding pattern)

3. Still lagging in basic services. Weak Revenue Streams (cost recovery for

water only 12%)

4. Traffic Congestion is key issue in ABD (Police Bazaar). Flyover proposal in

Police Bazaar not clearly presented.

5. Skywalks in ABD Area should be revisited and possibly dropped. Generally

history seems to be reason given for area selection on ABD. Might need

other reasons.

Iewduh, Bada Bazaar, is a traditional wholesale cum retail market in CBD Area of Shillong. It is having heavy business, heavily built, congested, with narrow streets, and unhygienic conditions.

Service/approach roads to Iewduh are high congested with traffic, parking, pedestrian movement. No organized loading-unloading space defined/available. MUDA parking complexes are chaotic and but have more potential to deal with parking issues of the area.
