I was born in 1988 in Lisbon, the city where I have lived until my move to London in February 2013.

My interests lie in architecture and the performing arts as well as in “constructing over

the constructed”.

In 2006 I started studying at the Faculdade de Arquitectura (FA) of Lisbon’s Technical University, from where I’ve recently graduated with a master degree. My project and thesis are titled “Anonymous Architecture (re-thinking the surrounding area of the new Museu dos Coches)”. It deals with Lisbon’s vernacular domestic architecture and how

we could re-habilitate it.

My need for new experiences drove me to São Paulo, Brazil, in 2009. During one year I had the opportunity to study in FAU USP, having also done an internship at BFS Ar-

quitetos.

Between classes, conferences, workshops (in architecture and architectural photogra-phy) I managed to keep practicing contemporary dance.

I look forward towards the next step, where I can further develop my skills as an archi-tect.

Anonymous Architecture

* CITY STUDYProject for master degree,

Lisbon, 2012.

This photograph work is about Siza and his vision of Lisbon’s vernacular landscape. In several images I try to capture the relationship between Lisbon’s monu-ments and their background, which are composed by several small hous-es that work in a sort of gestaltic way, giving the monuments the background they need to be fully appreciated. Therefore, I wanted to make a tribute to these small houses that so gener-ously contribute to make of Lisbon the city as we see.I have call them Anonymous Architec-ture.

“(...) it has always overwhelmed me in Lisbon, the contrast between the fragmented and almost cubist urban structure, influenced by the

Arabic culture, and the great constructions, the palaces. This duo determinates the intensity of the architectonic expression. There is no monument in this city without the anonymous continuity of multiple constructions: it’s about of complementary qualitative aspects. And however, in the city’s evolution, this construction’s role is being lost

under the eyes of everybody. The generalized ambition for protagonism makes therefore impossible any kind of protagonism. (...)”

Barcelona P a v i l i o n

* DAY IN BARCELONA expiriences,

Barcelona, 2011.

This examples constitutes an exercise of architectural photo-graphs. Where I try not only to present Mies Van der Rohe pavil-ion, but also to make an effort to emphasize the symmetries and geometrics that were on bases of the building’s conception. From this project I was looking to capture images like if a bidimen-sional composition it were about.

W o r k s h o p * Workshop in

Architectural Photos, Ar.Co, 2011.

This was the beginning of my architec-tural photograph experience. As an ar-chitect student I always felt the need to understand how could photography and architecture work together, so than I could take more advantage on the ar-chitectonic aspects when photographing.

The building here presented was our first object to experiment.
