ThePaintBranchAthleticDepartment involvesapproximately900studentson43teams(Varsity,JuniorVarsityandCorollarySports)acrossthethreesportsseasons.Tonight,thePomsandCheerleaderswillbepracticingforupcomingcompetitions.Throughathletics,coachesemphasizesportsmanship,team‐building,andacademics.Lastyear,56%ofourstudent‐athletesearnedaGPAof3.0orhigherand315studentathletesearnedMindsinMotionawardsfromthestateforearninga3.25GPAorhigherwhileplayingasport.48student‐athletesearnedaperfect4.0GPAduringtheseason.OurAthleticDirector,coachesandstudentsfromavarietyofsportsteamswillbestationedinthegymtoansweranyquestionsyoumayhave.FormoreinformationaboutourAthleticDepartment,pleasegotoourwebsiteat:http://paintbranchathletics.org/.

Therearesevenmajormusicensembles:ConcertOrchestra,JazzEnsemble,ConcertBand,SymphonicBand,ConcertChorusandtheJazzSingers.Inaddition,ourextra‐curricularinstrumentalperformancegroupsareMarchingBandduringthefallseasonandPitOrchestrafortheSpringMusical.LastspringthePBHSMusicDepartmenttookFirstPlacein7categoriesattheAtlantaMusicFestival.Inadditionahighlycovetedandnotalwaysawarded,“EspritdeCorps”trophywasgiventoPaintBranchfortheiroutstandingcitizenshipandcharacter.BothourinstrumentalandvocalmusicprogramsconsistentlyearnthehighestmarksobtainableinMCPSandStatecompetitions.OurOrchestrahascompetedintheMarylandStateOrchestracompetition.TheJazzSingers,theshowchoir,isknownforitsshowstoppingperformances.WealsoofferGuitar,PianoandWorldDrummingatPB.TheWinterMusicConcertisThursday,December11,2014at7:00.

WeoffertwolevelsoftheAdvancedPlacementCalculusexam,inadditiontotheCollegeLevelExaminationProgram(CLEP)forCalculusandtheAdvancePlacementStatisticsexam,allwhichallowsstudentstoearncollegecreditwhileinhighschool.
