How to keep your cat calm

on a vet visit

Let your cat play around the carrierbefore you visit.Perhaps pop some treats in therein the days before you travel. In the car, make sure the carrier islevel and secure.

1.The cat carrier

Clean the car and remove airfresheners. Put familiar (smelling) blankets inand over the carrier.Use a pheromone spray if thathelps.

2.Familiar smells

Minimise your cat’s time in the waitingroom.Keep your cat away from otheranimals when waiting.Keeping the cat carrier on your lap oron our special stands can really help.

3.In the waiting room

Take your cat’s favourite treats whenyou come to visit.Offer treats at points where they willreinforce positive aspects of the day.Handle your cat in the consultationroom rather than the waiting room.

4.Offer treats

If you have a cat that really doesn’t like travelling to the vets then, please let usknow when you book and call us before you start your trip so we can prepare for
