WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY-2018

NSS Unit of S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN celebrated World Blood Donor Day in

association with Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati on 14-06-2018.

NSS P.O, Staff & students attended the celebrations at Auditorium, SVIMS. Chief Guest of the

program Dr Aruna Sulochana Devi, Additional DM & HO (A&L), Chittoor addressed the

gathering and explained the students and participants about the guidelines to be followed

before donating the blood.

The Director of SVIMS Dr. T S Ravi Kumar, Convener of the program and SVIMS Blood Bank in

charge Dr. Sreedhar Babu addressed the gallery about benefits of blood donation and the

diseases transmitted through blood etc.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

NSS Unit of S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN celebrated 4rth International Day of

Yoga on 21-06-2018.

Staff & students were actively participated in the event held at College Auditorium. Principal,

Dr. T. Kalpa Latha Reddy addressed the gathering and explained about the limbs of Yoga.

Later on NSS Programme Officer Dr K Sujan Kumar continued the session by taking the IDY

Pledge from the gathering and also playing the videos about History and benefits of Yoga.

Finally Students and Staff were participated in the practical session containing basic Asanas

and Bandhas.

Awareness Campaign on Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking

As per the direction from the Technical education, Government of Andhra Pradesh and

Vice-Chancellor, JNTUA, NSS Unit of S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN

participated in the rally on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking conducted by the

Department of Prohibition & Excise on 10, July, 2018..

The rally started sharp at 10 am by Sri K. S. Jawahar, Honorable Minister,

Department of Prohibition & Excise from Mahathi Auditorium to Sri Padmavati Mahila

Viswa Vidyalayam. NSS P.O, Staff, Students and Volunteers were actively participated

in the rally showing various Pla cards on ill effects of drug addiction.

After Rally, Programme was conducted at Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam

Auditorium. Students from different institutions were attended. Chief Guest Sri K. S.

Jawahar, Honorable Minister, Department of Prohibition & Excise initiated the

program by lightening the lamp and various guests addressed the gathering on

impacts of Drug abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

WORKSHOP ON GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS FOR CAPACITY BUILDING

For the first time, Government of Andhra Pradesh has conducted one day work shop entitled

GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS FOR CAPACITY BUILDING on 4rth August, 2018 at Tarakarama

Stadium, Tirupati followed by the Interaction programme of Honorable Chief Minister of

Andhra Pradesh Sri N. Chanrababu Naidu garu with 12,000 students from various institutions.

Students from Sri Venkateswara Engineering College for Women were actively participated

and presented their innovative ideas with designed prototype and exhibited various project

models.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

NSS Unit of S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN celebrated International Youth Day on

11-08-2018 in a grand manner.

Staff were actively participated in the events conducted by the NSS Unit such as essay

writing, Poster making competition, Arts & Crafts, Just a minute and Dub smash.

Dr N.B. Sudhakar Reddy, Personality development trainer and Psychologist was invited as a

chief guest and he addressed the gathering and explained about the keys to success in

academics as well as in career. Principal, Dr T kalpalatha Reddy shared her views on women

empowerment and its status in India. Finally Prizes were distributed to all the winners in

different events.

SUPPORTING ORPHAN SPECIAL CHILDREN

NSS Unit of Sri Venkateswara Engineering College for Women collected donations to

support the Orphan Special Children in association with ABHAYA KSHETHRAM CHARITABLE

TRUST, Renigunta in the month of August, 2018.

Dr. S.A. Thasleem Sulthana, Founder Director, ABHAYA KSHETHRAM along with the Orphans

and Special Children visited the Institution, explained the activities carried under their Trust

and requested to support the Trust through donations/stationery etc.

NSS P.O & Volunteers gave a wide publicity among the Students and Staff. Later on Staff &

Students donated generously and handover the amount of Rs. 10,915/- to Dr. S.A. Thasleem

Sulthana.

NSS FOUNDATION DAY- 1969-2018Golden Jubilee Celebrations

NSS UNIT OF S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN organized National Service Scheme

Foundation Day in a grand manner on 24-09-2018.

The Program Officer, Senior Faculty and Student Volunteers came up with lot of initiations. I

am listing some of those initiations along with photographs for your kind perusal.

1. Display of Banner at Block-B.

2. Programme started by 10.30 am at Block- B Seminar Hall.

3. Played a video of NSS official song.

4. The Programme Officer of NSS Unit addressed the gathering about the history, motto

and objectives of the Scheme and also the activities done so far under the scheme in

the college.

5. Played a short film on serving the society followed by the National Anthem.

6. NSS Volunteers and students formed a chain showing NSS=50.

SELF DEFENSE TRAINING

NSS UNIT OF S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN in association with S V Defense

Academy, Tirupati has conducted a training program on “Self Defense Techniques” to girl

students from 08-10-2018 to 16-10-2018 in the college campus. Mr. A. Avinash, Trainer,

Martial Arts briefed on Need of Self Defense and has given a training on the same. The

NSS UNIT OF S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN in association with Municipal

Corporation, Tirupati has conducted a survey on Swachh Survekshan 2019 on 27.10.2018

Principal, Head of the Departments, NSS PO, Staff and Students participated in the mobile

survey followed by the Rally and Pledge. The main objective of this program is to maintain

Tirupati city Clean & Green. The following are the activities conducted to promote cleanliness

among students and staff.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK

NSS Unit of S.V. Engineering College for Women celebrated Vigilance Awareness

Week - 2018’ with the theme of “Eradicate Corruption – Build a new India” from 29-

10-2018 to 03-11-2018 in association with Vigilance and Enforcement Department,

Tirupati, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Principal, Staff Members, Students and Volunteers participated very actively and

conducted various events/activities such as lectures, debates, quiz, essay writing,

slogans and poster competitions for inculcating greater awareness on corruption and

anti-corruption measures among the students and Staff.

Vigilance and Enforcement Department SP P.V Radha Krishna garu visited the

institution and addressed the participants on the role of citizens to make our nation a

corruption free in all the aspects concluded by the prize distribution to winners of

Essay and Elocution competition.

Citizen Pledge was also taken by all the students and staff on account of Vigilance

Awareness week. Organization Pledge was taken by the Head of the Institute along

with Head of the Departments.

MISSION SAHASI

NSS UNIT OF S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN along with the students who were

undergone a training program of 8 days from 08-10-2018-to 16-10-2018 were participated

and performed in the MISSION SAHASI Program conducted by the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi

Parishad at Indira Priyadarsini Grounds, Tirupati on 30.10.2018. Thousands of students were

attended and Sixty three students from S.V. ENGINEERING COLLEGE FOR WOMEN were

attended and performed martial arts. YSRCP Nagari Constituency MLA Smt R.K.Roja was

invited as a chief guest along with Chadalawada Group of Colleges Chairman Smt Sucharita

and ABVP District Coordinator Ravi Naidu.

ABVP District Coordinator Ravi Naidu briefed a session on Existence of ABVP and its activities,

Chadalawada Group of Colleges Chairman Smt Sucharita encouraged the students to

participate in such type of programs to lead a secured life. Finally Chief Guest of the Program

Smt R.K.Roja shared her views on current condition of women in every sector. She promised

to conduct more such programs for women empowerment.

NATIONAL UNITY DAY

On the occasion of Shri Sardar Vallabhai Patel Birthday, NSS Unit of S.V. Engineering

College for Women organized National Unity Day in a grand manner.

Principal, Senior Staff Members, Students and Volunteers participated very actively for

the various events/activities carried out on account of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ on 31-10-

2018.

A “Run for Unity” was conducted involving students/faculty from all the sections to

convey the message of national unity permeates every part of the nation and the

society. Pledge was taken by all the Students and Staff on account of Rashtriya Ekta

Diwas.
