Creating a Legislative Staff Group and Type 1. Mouse over “Administration,” “Setup and Administration,” “Table Definitions,” and select

“Group/Type.”

2. From the “Entity” dropdown, select “Staff.” 3. Click “Add New Group and Types.”

4. Enter a group code. Note: The group code cannot contain spaces; use an underscore to separate words

5. Enter a group name. 6. Enter a type code.

Creating a Legislative Staff Type to Add to an Existing Group 1. Mouse over “Administration,” “Setup and Administration,” “Table Definitions,” and select

“Group/Type.”

2. From the dropdown menu, select “Staff.” 3. Highlight the group with which the new type will be associated. 4. Click “Add New Types to Selected Group.” 5. Enter a type code.

Note: The Type Code cannot contain spaces; use the underscore to separate words 6. Enter a type name. 7. Click “Save.”

8. View the new type for the group.

Performing a Grouping Update for Legislative Staff This section shows you how to perform a grouping update for Legislative staff from Democracy Direct. 1. Each step below (1a and 1b) can be used to begin a grouping update.

a. Mouse over “People/Places,” “Staff,” and “Find.”

b. From “People/Places," select “Current Selections.” Then select a staff search then “Grouping Update” from “Available Actions.” Click “Apply Selected Action.”

2. Select a “golden rod” tab. 3. Select the criteria. 4. Click “Search.”

5. Select “Grouping Update.” 6. Click “Execute.”

7. Select the group name and type name. 8. Click “Add to Selected Group/Types.”

9. Click “Add Group/Types to Records.”

10. Click “Update Records.”

Performing a Grouping Update for Legislators This section shows you how to perform a grouping update for legislators from Democracy Direct. 1. Each step below (1a or 2b) can be used to begin the grouping update.

a. Mouse over “People/Places,” “Legislator,” and “Find.”

b. From “People/Places, select “Current Selections.” Then select a legislator search and then “Grouping Update” from “Available Actions.” Click “Apply Selected Action.”

2. From the “Official/Candidates” screen, select the search criteria. 3. Click “Search.”

4. From the dropdown menu, select “Grouping Update.” 5. Click “Execute.”

6. From the “Global Group/Type Update,” select “Group Name” and “Type Name.” 7. Click “Add to Selected Group/Types.”

8. Click “Add Group/Types to Records.”

9. Click “Update Records.”
