What: Gingerbread House CompetitionWhere: Hartley Sky LoungeWhen: Sunday, November 4 at 7:00 PMWho: Anyone and everyone who thinks they can hangwith the big dogs!The competition will seek to find by the end of thenight the most tricked out, all around flyest and sexiestGingerbread Crib for the win! They will be great toaccessorize your respective suites or merely serve assomething you pick at for the next couple of weeksuntil it’s unrecognizable. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rdplace prizes.I know what you’re thinking; its November, why areyou making gingerbread palaces like epic bosses? Goodquestion. Answer: Jealous! (You don’t have to be.)Also we would like to take this time for you to thinkabout Gingerbread man whose home will be foreclosedon by the bank on November 4th because of predatorylending. Gingerbread man will be homeless forChristmas. You can help prevent this!Build Gingerbread man the home he deserves.You can’t pass this up! On behalf of the Tau Chapter of the Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority,Inc. at Columbia University, I would like to cordially invite youto our fifth annual Arise Benefit Dinner.Kappa Phi Lambda is a value­based organization that seeks topromote Pan­Asian issues and provide service and education toits community. Our national philanthropy is the National AsianPacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF), the only nationalmulti­issue Asian Pacific American women's organization in thecountry.Each Fall semester, Kappa Phi Lambda hosts a benefit dinner inwhich proceeds go to raising awareness on an issue that affectsour communities. Since it's inception in 2007, Arise has broughttogether the university community by providing an evening thatis filled with food, entertainment, and good company. This year,we are featuring vocal performances as well as a Greek StrollShowcase that highlights the diversity and talents of theMulticultural Greek Organizations at Columbia.This year, Arise will be donating to the Teen Resource Center ofthe Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, a non­profitorganization that provides health, educational, and socialresources and services to the youth and community. In lieu ofrecent events, we will also be donating proceeds to CAAAV(Committee Against Anti­Asian Violence) to support theirefforts in providing relief to those affected by the Hurricane inChinatown.We would love to have you join us on Friday, November 9th inRoone Arledge Auditorium, located on West 115th andBroadway at Columbia University. Who: Professor Scott Snyder. Professor Snyder works in theChemistry department and focuses his research on the totalsynthesis of natural products. He has been at Columbia for 6years and teaches organic chemistry.
