• Protects plants and wildlife • Gives civil and criminal penalties for
any violations to law• Prohibits trading of wildlife, fish, and
plants that have been illegally taken, transported or sold.
• Originally created to protect game species
• Now serves the purpose of preventing spread of exotic species.
