TransportationCamp is not a formal conference - rather, as an unconference, it is driven entirely by attendees’ interests and experiences.At TransportationCamp, there is no set agenda prior to the event. The Transportation Academy is a two-week immersion program, offering undergraduate and graduate students a first-handlook at different facets of the transportation industry; the Academy is open to men and women. Students will visit 15 public and
private partners for half-day seminars to learn all about the transportation industry.
The theme of the Academy this year is sustainability and participating agencies will highlight how they are developingsustainable solutions to meet future challenges and demands within the transportation industry. Participants will learn
about management, finance, operations and planning, as well as engineering, construction management and public involvementprincipals. In addition to hearing from top executives within the transportation field, students will experience transportation first-hand through a series of onsite tours including live construction projects, tours of harbors and/or rail yards, tolling facilities, etc.

Women's Transportation Seminar is an international organization with more than 5,000 members. WTS is committed to excellence in thetransportation industry and provides opportunities for members to advance their careers through the exchange of information, ideas and

WTS-LA is now accepting applications for 2019 scholarships, available in three categories: Graduate Student Scholarships,Undergraduate Scholarships, and Community College Scholarships. The competitive academic scholarships are available to women in
high school, community college, undergraduate and graduate programs in transportation-related fields or areas of study.

Transportation Research Board Annual Meeting 2020: Call for PapersSubmissions Due: Thursday, August 1, 2019
TRB is accepting papers for consideration as part of the program for the 99th TRB Annual Meeting, January 12-16, 2020, in Washington,D.C., and/or for publication in the Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board (TRR).
The spotlight theme for the 2020 meeting is "A Century of Progress: Foundation for the Future." The information-packed program isexpected to attract more than 13,000 transportation professionals from around the world.
TRB’s standing committees have issued general calls for papers on a variety of topics that would be appropriate for the Annual Meeting. Inaddition, authors are invited to submit papers related to the above-mentioned spotlight theme, or on any other topics that would be of
interest to the TRB community.
WTS-OC 2019-20 ScholarshipsApplications Due: Friday, September 6, 2019 by 5 pm Pacific
To encourage women pursuing careers in transportation, the Orange County Chapter of WTS offers multiple graduate, undergraduate,community college and high school scholarships to girls and women in Southern California. In 2018, WTS-OC awarded 11 scholarshipstotaling $51,500. The number of scholarships and amounts for the 2019-20 academic year will be determined following a review of the
applications received.
Specific criteria for each scholarship can be found within the application itself. Applications may be submitted online or downloaded andsubmitted via email.
