HOLY REDEEMER’S PRAYER INTENTION BOOK
Please continue to remember and pray for all those listed in our
prayer intention book.
These Three Kings
In today’s Gospel, we hear of the journey of the Magi to
meet the Christ child. Their journey is one of great faith -
though they were not Jewish, they had studied enough to
recognize the star that lead them to the coming of the
Savior as a newborn boy. As we can imagine, this is
probably not what they expected to see.
However, the wise Magi were able to recognize the King of Kings in a tiny infant. Finally, they
disobeyed a powerful ruler and changed their route home because of a dream. What provoked
the Magi to begin this journey in the first place? Where in your life do you need to trust God as
the Magi did?
When the Magi arrived at the place where Jesus was born, they immediately recognized him
as their Savior and “prostrated themselves and did him homage.” They saw this innocent
child, their Lord, and offered him their best gifts-gold, frankincense, and myrrh. What gifts do
you have to offer to Christ? Do you offer to him from your excess, or do you offer him all that
you are?
The best you can give to Jesus is your very self-your heart. Have you offered it to him?
What is holding you back from giving the infant Jesus your heart today?

January 7, 2018 - (6 weeks)
Within 42 days, the skeleton has formed. Brain waves can be detected and measured by day 43. About the size of a small lentil bean (4 to 5 millimeters), the eyes, ears and nostrils are beginning to form. Vocal cords and tongue are also developing. The heart beats at approximately 100-130 beats per minute, almost as twice as mom’s! Baby is now starting to move his tiny limbs.

New Year’s Blessing
O God of ancient blessing, your servant Mary pondered in her heart the treasured
words spoken about her Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.
Bless us, as we gather in His name, and prepare our hearts to receive His Spirit,
that our tongues may confess him Lord, every day of this new year,
and for ever and ever. Amen.
