fortress, a royal palace, and a prison. It has also served as a place of execution

and torture,an armoury,a treasury,a zoo,a public records office, an observatory.

London Bridge This is a bridge between the City of

London and Southwark. It was the only bridge over the Thames

below Kingston until Westminister Bridge was opened in 1750
