Student feedback mechanism on Institutional
Governance / faculty performance :
Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty, staff and students:

committee and anti-ragging committee
Parent Teacher Association :
We use online software system for the evaluation
of teachers by students which is mandatory for the
career advancement scheme of faculty members.
This scheme is an effective measure to monitor the
progress and achievements of faculties. The online
campus management software used in the college
has the facility to collect the feedback from
students.
Grievance redressal and appeal committee meet
regularly and help the principal to take decisions
regarding the welfare of students. The committee
members are selected faculties and the chairman is
a senior faculty member. This committee is
entrusted with the task of looking after the welfare
of the students by taking appropriate steps with the
concurrence of the principal within minimum
duration.
These committees are functioning in the college to
ensure the welfare of students, faculty and staff.
The Parent Teacher Association has a prominent
role in aiding smooth functioning of the college.
All parents/guardians of the students on the roles of
the college are members of the association. It is
compulsory for a parent/guardian to be a member
of the PTA. PTA plays a major role in the day- to-
day activities of the institute by providing
1. To work for the welfare of the students and of the institution and to offer constructive suggestions for the smooth and successful functioning of the college
2. To promote better participation of the parents in the various programs of the college and to establish better liaison with teachers.
• Provide stationary items for conducting series test for all branches of Engineering
• Meets the expense towards Identity cards
• Provides security services to the College and Hostel.
• Meets the expense towards sending the student’s progress report to parents
• Provides essential civil and electrical maintenance work to different departments and campus.
• Provides essential maintenance work Ladies Hostel
• Maintenance of Ladies amenity center
• Reward the students securing highest mark in all branches
• Reward the students excelling in academics and extracurricular activities
• Sponsorship for students participating in Technical Seminars/Conferences outside the College
• Meets the expense for Campus doctor
• Provides training for staff advisors to counsel the students
• Financial assistance to activities like NSS, College Union election, sports and arts

Fee for all the courses is as decided by the Government of Kerala.
Admission procedure
Admission to the BTech programs are through the KEAM entrance test conducted by the entrance examination
commissioner. The students are allotted based on their rank in KEAM to each branch following the reservation
rules.
M Tech admission is based on GATE score. The director of technical education will invite application for
admission to M Tech programs in all the government engineering college in Kerala. The allotted students will be
joining the institute. Non-GATE students are also admitted if sufficient number of GATE qualified students are
not available. The non-GATE students are ranked based on their marks in BTech program.
Scholarships and fee waiver schemes
The tuition fee is waived in case of students admitted through total fee waiver scheme. In addition to this, the
SC/ST students are exempted from payment of fees. Other scholarships like Merit cum means scholarship,
GATE scholarship, EGrantz, etc. are also available to the students.

A campus management software is in place for managing and monitoring the academic
activities. Setting of timetable, Online classes, conduct of assignments and series tests, student
feedback, internal mark and attendance generation, surveys, messaging, etc. can be done through
this platform.

Infrastructure Information
Facilities
1. Library
The college library has a good collection of technical books (more than 24000 Nos.) catering to the needs of students in all the branches. The library has separate lending and reference sections with a vast area of titles under all disciplines. The journal section subscribes major technical periodicals and foreign journals. A computerized library information system with easy search facility is implemented. All the
students and staff of the college are members of the library. The college has membership in National digital library and the students are encouraged to use National Digital Library and other online digital resources (ACM, Elsevier, IEEE). The college has an active NPTEL Chapter.
2. Central Computing Facility (CCF)
Apart from sufficient computing facilities in each department, a central computing facility is functioning in the college. The CCF is equipped with over 75 Client machines, Server Class Machines, High Speed LAN, Cisco Router etc.
Students shall get ample of opportunities to develop their knowledge in the field of information technology and skills in UNIX like environment and software development. Apart from this, every department has their own computing facilities with 30 to 40 terminals in each. Computers in the computing centers are connected by LAN. WiFi facility is also available throughout the campus for students and faculty.
The college has enough number of applications software for technical simulations. College owns campus license for MATLAB.
3. Hostel
GECK has one ladies hostel with an intake of 150. Procedure for hostel admission is as per the institute norms. The students and other activities in the hostels are under the supervision of a warden. All residents of college hostels to strictly obey the following rules • Rooms once allotted to the students will not be changed except on special situations. • Guests can be permitted only if the permission is obtained. Entertaining unauthorized guest will
lead to severe punishment, including expulsion from the hostel. • Use of personal computer by a resident will be permitted only with prior permission of warden. PC
should not be used for objectionable purpose. • The use of electrical appliance such as immersion heaters, electrical stove are forbidden. Private
cooking is strictly forbidden. • Students should cooperate in carrying out maintenance works and should vacate rooms when the
maintenance work is required. • The residents shall not move furniture from its allotted space. • All visitors to the hostel will have to make necessary entries in the visitor's book. • The residents shall not paste any posters/ pictures etc. on the walls, windows, and shelves. The

4. College Buses Two college buses operate for the convenience of students and staff of this institution.
5. Canteen
A canteen is functioning in the college for staff and students. Separate dining spaces for staff and students, ergonomic seating arrangements, clean and hygienic food at affordable price are provided.
6. Information Communication Technology facilities
The college has direct uplink with EDUSAT, and has fifteen IT enabled smart class rooms with LCD
projectors and laptops. Three classrooms are equipped with interactive flip TV based smart boards. Principals conference room has a fully equipped video conferencing system with multiple screens.
7. Extracurricular/Cocurricular activities The institute has a college ground, a volleyball court with synthetic flooring and indoor table tennis facilities to cater the sports and games activities of the students. The professional bodies like IEEE, ISTE, are active in the campus. Two units of NSS is also functioning in the college.
