i)Navigatetothe“Preferences”sectionofyourGlobusPersonalConnectclientii)Click“Access”.Selectthe“+”plussignatthebottomleftcorner.iii)PlugyourUSBharddrive intothelaptoporworkstationandmakesureitisrecognizedbytheoperatingsystem.Selectthedriveandclick“Open”orthecorrespondingbuttoninyouroperatingsystem.iv)MakesuretheUSBharddrive appearsinthe“AccessibleDirectoriesandFiles”listwith“Writeable”selected.v)Inthe“TransferFiles”page,youshouldnowseeanadditionaldirectorythatpointstotheUSBharddrive mountedonthelaptoporworkstation.vi)SelectadestinationfolderonthemountedUSBharddrive.

NOTE:Ifyouaresettingupyourdatatransferathttp://globus.org onthesamemachinethattheUSBharddrive isconnectedto,youcannotshutdownthecomputerorthetransferwillbreak.Ifyouareusingadifferentmachine,youcanclosedownthecomputer.(I.E.don’tshutdownthecomputerthatthedataistransferringto)
