“We have chosen the way of truth.” Psalm 119:30
VOLUME 2 January 24, 2016 Number 04
From the Pastor’s Heart
Greetings Southside Family,
Our church family is studying the book of Ephesians on Sunday morn-
ings. The Holy Spirit led us to deviate from that study last Sunday as we
observed some wonderful truths in Genesis 19. We will dive back into
Ephesians 4 this morning as we seek to be unified in our faith.
When any group works together for a common goal, there is almost al-
ways a spirit of unity. That is true in a family, a business, a team, and it
is true at church. We are going to be reminded this morning in our study
of the book of Ephesians that the work of the church is done by the
saints; every member has a role to play in serving our Lord. Every mem-
ber has one or more spiritual gifts that can be used to move the church in
the direction of God’s will. When all of God’s people are doing God’s
will, there is unity! You have a part to play in God’s kingdom. The joy
of service in the area of your calling will bless not only you but also the
wonderful people of Southside Baptist Church. May God help us to
recognize our gift and use it for His glory.
Personally, I want to remind all parents of children ages 3 to 5th grade,
to come to our parents meeting this afternoon at 5:00pm. Mrs. Rhonda
will be discussing the direction of our children’s program and will allow
you an opportunity to have input on things you would like to see happen
in the children’s area.
Also, if you have participated in the “Baby Bottle Boomerang” mission
drive, we need all bottles turned in today. Thanks for supporting Wire-
grass Hope Group!
Love you church! Let’s continue to seek to connect people to live the
life of a Jesus follower.
In Christ,
Stacy

Good Morning!
What a blessing it is to be in the Lord's house this morning! I have always loved the scripture
that informs us "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord"
Psalm 122:1. I pray this morning that we understand why we are here. We are in existence to
give honor and glory to Jesus Christ alone. I pray that we never lose sight of this. Over the past
week, a line from one of our beloved hymns, “Brethren, We Have Met to Worship," ran
through my mind: "All is vain, unless the Spirit of the Holy One comes down." As many
times as we have sung that in the past, it is easy for it to lose meaning to us. Let's focus on our
purpose this morning at Southside Baptist Church which is to love the Lord our God with all
of our heart, soul, mind, and strength!
In Christ Alone,
Bro. Gary

Happy Sunday everyone,
I attended a Bible study this week and want to share a verse with you that spoke to me and I
hope it speaks to you as well. 2 Corinthians 2:14, “But thanks be to God, who in Christ al-
ways leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge
of him everywhere.” It is through us that the knowledge of God is made known. Are we
spreading the fragrance of the knowledge of God? If not, what are we spreading?
Parents of children ages 3 through 5th grade, there will be a meeting today at 5:00 p.m.
in the fellowship hall. Please come to hear about some upcoming changes in the pre-
school and children’s area. It will also be an opportunity for you to offer suggestions.
I am now enrolling volunteers for VBS. If you would like to serve, please let me know. The
theme is ‘Submerged’.
Sr. Adults, please note that you must pay your $150.00 deposit by Feb. 1 to reserve a place
for our trip to the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on Sept. 26th –

maining balance on the first of each month beginning in March. The Sr. Adult Council will
meet on Wed. Feb. 3rd at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room.
Please start bringing in your candy for the Easter EGGstravaganza which will be held in
March. We will be collecting candy for about 4 weeks. No hard candy, please.
Blessings,
Mrs. Rhonda
