“This year’s Summit was another great chance to get face to face with so many in our industry. As we see it, this is a business about relationships. The annual Summits are one of the most important events for Bannikin, an opportunity to continue to build those relationships and learn what’s happening outside of the conference hall.”
SHANNON GUIHAN, DIRECTOR, BANNIKIN TRAVEL & TOURISM CANADA
[Namibia]
A key focus of each Summit is an opportunity for the adventure travel community to experience the host destination. Namibia hosted all Summit attendees on two-days of adventure. In addition, Namibia hosted international media and buyers on pre-Summit adventures. Time in the destination allowed delegates to understand what adventure travel offerings Namibia has to offer.

"Namibia! This country was trying hard to steal my heart before the plane even landed. Once on the ground and on my PSA, my heart was officially stolen. We criss-crossed Namibia by mountain bike and 4X4, visiting the Namib desert, Sossuvlei while ticking off some wildlife along the way, most notably giraffe. H&I Adventures is now working hard to finalize a new mountain bike safari tour to this wonderful country, Namibia!"
EUAN WILSON, DIRECTOR, H&I ADVENTURES LTD SCOTLAND
[A Conservation Story]A centerpiece of the 2013 Summit was Namibia’s communal conservancies as shining examples of a model for the future of communities and wildlife management.

“The Summit is nothing like the traditional fairs - participants come from varied kinds of business, varied profiles. The mix of people enhances the exchanges. This mix is very rich in terms of nationalities of businesses: media, bloggers, buyers, suppliers and all from various sizes, from the big companies to the individuals. We gained much this week - lots of ideas, but also the support on the directions to follow and the issues to solve to develop our own strategy. After this Summit, we are part of the adventure travel community and tribe. No doubt, I got hooked. The ATWS is the event not to miss.”
