hildren love watching films, but the challenge is that good children's films Care hard to come by. Film festivals are a great source of good films for children, but the reality is that film festivals happen in very few cities and few
children get an access to the wonderful films featured in film festivals. We at LXL Ideas asked ourselves a question – If children do not go to film festivals, can we take the festival to the children? Our answer to this question was the birth of the International Kids Film Festival - IKFF.
IKFF gives schools all over the world an opportunity to host a film festival in their premises. We have partnered with 7 of the best International Childrens Film Festivals from across the globe who have helped us curate almost 100 amazing films from 30 countries in 20 languages. IKFF is a great opportunity for children across the world to learn from the magic of cinema. This year IKFF also features Learn Cinema, an online film making class, exclusively designed for students to learn the art of film making. Students can also participate in the film making competition as part of IKFF this year and win exciting prizes of $10,000 and a chance to travel international film festivals.
As far as we are concerned, IKFF is the future of learning, and for all of us at LXL Ideas, our dream is to take IKFF to children across the globe in the coming years!

Message from Festival programmer
Neha Jain
Head, LXL Films, LXL Ideas
elcome to the second edition of the International Kids Film Festival! It’s been a hectic Wseven months of marathon film viewing sessions, debates and discussions and, finally, I’d like to present to you the IKFF 2018 Catalogue: a diverse collection of 93 compelling
films from 31 countries, selected with a lot of passion and conviction, only for you.
Our main objective during the selection process has been to choose films that make you think and make you question the status quo. But I also know that these films will make you feel emotions you might not have experienced before. Some ideas might be unfamiliar to you, some stories might question your beliefs, all we ask of you is to look at each of these with an open mind. You may be surprised by what you learn - the places that you see, and the people that you meet.
Besides my fantastic Films Programming team, I would also like to thank our Partners who helped us find these gems in children’s cinema - Children's Film Festival Seattle, Providence Children's Film Festival (USA), Giffoni International Film Festival (Italy), Boston International Kids Film Festival, Lucas International Festival for Young Film Lovers (Germany) and Rolan International Film Festival for Children and Youth (Armenia). The embassies of France and Australia were instrumental in getting us films from their countries.
The best of the films at IKFF 2018 stand to win many awards. These will be chosen by our eight-member Jury comprising of eminent personalities from the film and animation industries in India, France and the United States. We also have a 20-member Children's Jury selected from schools across the world.
We hope you enjoy watching these films. After all, what can be better than going to the movies with friends and, that too, in school itself!
