Steps to successful personal introductions:

2. Practice reading it or saying it aloud.

1. Write out/Type out your personal introduction.

4. When you know it, you can better SELL it

Different introductions for different situations

Develop two (2) personal introductions:

2. Long version (60 seconds): for job interviews.

1. Short version (15 to 30 seconds): for networking events.

Include:

2. Your six (6) greatest strengths/skills.

1. Who you are (name, what you do).

3. Your call to action (what you can do and what you are looking for).

4. Always offer assistance to other person (how can I assist you?).

Short Personal Introduction (15-30 seconds):

• “Hi, my name is _________________. I’ve been in the technology field for 3 years and I am currently in career transition. My expertise includes technical support, technical training, and software testing. I am currently looking for a Technical Support position in Broward County where I can make a meaningful contribution.

Longer Example – Job Interview (60 seconds):

“Hi, my name is Bob Nealon and I am a Career Coach. I play a key role in motivating my clients to accomplish their job search and career advancement goals through effective coaching and training. Helping my clients through a very stressful time – their job search – is rewarding, fulfilling, and something I love to do. I have expertise in creating winning resumes and cover letters, personal branding, job search strategies, job search planning, and more. I possess a Masters Degree and have several industry recognized credentials including the Certified Professional Resume Writer and Certified Professional Career Coach certifications. I have been able turn my passion into successful outcomes for my clients as they report reaching their objectives quicker than expected. I am always on the lookout for speaking opportunities, writing and content development opportunities, and acquiring the latest information on hiring trends and labor market information.
