Mr. Michael J. Fedisson, Principal Mr. Daniel L. Park, Vice-Principal Bellefonte Area Mrs. Rebecca L. Michaels, Vice-Principal School District Dear Class of 2018,
After years of school, years of homework and tests and essays, years of laughs, tears, achievements, and
disappointments, you will soon reach the end of an era. You will clean out your lockers, say your goodbyes, and
walk out the doors of Bellefonte High School. Please know that this is not where your story ends, but where it
begins. This is the part of the book where you get to choose your own adventure; you get to make the choices that
will impact your future. For some of you, this might seem like a daunting, scary task, but always remember that the
people that have helped you get this far will always be there to help support the choices you make.
As you get closer to graduation, take some time to thank the people that have helped you along the way. Say thank
you to your parents for being at every game, every performance, and every competition. Say thank you to your
teachers who have made an impact on the way you see the world. Say thank you to your friends for supporting you
and providing you with years of memories. Say thank you to your coaches, mentors, and the people that mean the
most to you for being your support system throughout these years. Although it is your turn to make the choices that
will lead you through life, these people will always be there to help. Don’t forget that.
Before you head off on your own, these next few weeks will be packed with opportunities to make memories that
will last a lifetime. Chances are, you won’t remember the tests and the homework. You will think about the field
trips you took, your last time on stage, the final seconds on the clock, the final steps off the field, the teachers that
made a difference, and the memories that you made with your friends. As you participate in the final weeks of
events as a senior, take a minute to put down your phone and enjoy these moments. Make as many memories as
possible so that when you look back, you see the laughs and smiles that fell upon your face.
To say that we are proud of your accomplishments would be an understatement. However, the pride that we feel
about your time at Bellefonte does not compare to the excitement we have for your future. We can’t wait to see
what great things you accomplish and what amazing choices you make to create the best version of yourself.

F.A.Q. for Senior Activities
1. Why are some activities mandatory to attend?
Answer: You are required by law to be in attendance on school days. The only optional events
are Senior Ball, Senior Class Trip, Commencement, and Senior All Night Party. All other
ceremonies, events, and practices are mandatory.
2. What if I cannot attend a mandatory event?
Answer: You will not be permitted to walk at the graduation ceremony or participate in other
senior activities if you do not attend mandatory events.
3. How do Senior Finals work?
Answer: Be aware of the following:
● There will be a sign in/out table in the main lobby where you must sign in/out when you
arrive/leave.
● You must stay for the entire testing window; you are not permitted to leave until the testing
period is over.
● You only need to come for the final(s) you have. (For example, if you have a final exam
during the first testing period of the day and a study hall for the second testing period of the
day, you only need to report for the final exam testing period. You do not need to report for
the testing period when you have study hall…however, see the next bullet point.)
● If you do not have any finals scheduled for a particular day, you still must sign in for one of
the final periods; otherwise you will have an unexcused absence. (For example, if you have
study halls during both testing periods, you do not have to stay for either testing period.
However, you must at least report and sign-in and leave at the start of one of the testing
period times to confirm your attendance.)
4. What if I need to reschedule a final due to an excused absence?
Answer: There is a “Reschedule Final” form in the student office, and in this Redbook, that you
will need to submit ASAP. See pg 16 of this packet
5. Do I still have to attend CPI during finals?
Answer: Yes, you are still required to attend CPI. You will need to be at the HS to catch the bus
at the following dates and times:
May 15: AM CPI—8:09 / PM CPI—11:35
May 16: AM CPI—8:09 / PM CPI—11:35
May 17: AM CPI—8:09 / PM CPI—11:35
May 18: AM CPI—8:09 / PM CPI—11:35
May 21-22: BAHS Make Up Finals in AM. CPI still reports as normally scheduled
May 23: ALL CPI students report back to BAHS. Bus departs at 11:59am;
CPI Awards/Graduation Practice
May 24: Last regular Senior CPI school day
10
6. What if I have college freshman testing/new student orientation?
Answer: Pick up the “College Trip Form” in the Attendance Office. Once the form is complete,
return it to the attendance office. Absences may be excused, but please make every effort to
schedule this around Senior Week events.
7. What if I am scheduled to work?
Answer: It is important to tell your employer that you cannot work during the dates/times
specified. Working is not an excused absence.
8. What is the Appreciation Video and who can attend?
Answer: The Appreciation Video is the time when the seniors will watch a video compiled of
pictures/memories from their high school years. This event will take place in the theater and there
is no reserved seating. Patrons will be seated on a first come, first serve basis. Patrons should
bring ID for check-in at the theatre entrance.
9. What are the seating arrangements for the Awards Ceremony?
Answer: There are NO reserved seats for guests of the Class of 2018 for this ceremony. Parents,
families, and guests are welcome to attend, but please advise your guests to arrive early as parking
is limited. Handicapped parking is available in front of the theatre and on the side of the gym.
After the ceremony, you will pick up your awards in the library before attending the reception,
The reception, which is sponsored by the Parent Group, is in the cafeteria.
If you need handicapped seating for this event please see instructions on Senior Check Out Form pg 12
10. Are outside guests/friends allowed to attend the All Night Party?
Answer: NO GUESTS WILL BE PERMITTED!
11. How does the All Night Party work?
Answer: Students must sign in between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on May 11, 2018 in HS Main
Lobby. Students will not be able to leave before the party is over without first contacting a
parent/guardian. The party concludes at 6:00 am on May 12, 2018.
12. What is the Senior Walk?
Answer: Donning their cap & gowns, the seniors will walk the halls to help inspire and motivate
the younger students. High school students will be transported to the elementary school which they
attended, as well as Bellefonte Middle School for the Senior Walk.
13. How does Senior Tile Painting work and when is it due?
Answer: Students need to create and turn in design, for administration approval, to Mrs. Durney
not later than Monday, May 21st. Designs should be on 8 1/2 x 11 paper with your name on back . Once
approved, give $6.00 to Mrs. Durney and get your tile. Return completed tile no later than Friday, May

personnel will result in consequences such as being removed from all senior
activities and possible involvement with law enforcement. Also, students are
expected to arrive promptly for all graduation activities and practices. If a student
