Cafe Milano is proud to partner with esteemed winemaker Carlo Ferrini presenting his three signature wines that elegantly symbolize Italy’s terroir.
Everything at Giodo is underpinned by the concept of uncompromising quality. The entire
process takes its start from the selection of clones and vines that are ideal for producing wines that are elegant, well-balanced and with impressive length. Every decision, every individual
detail, whether in the vineyard or the winecellar, is of the greatest importance and merits full and
meticulous attention. Those small details are the indispensable tesserae that compose the
mosaic that Carlo Ferrini’s experience and expertise makes absolutely unique, the creation that his
extraordinary passion has successfully handed on to his daughter Bianca.
Giodo Toscana IGT, Carlo Ferrini 2016 130 Sangiovese – Toscana, Italy 96 James Suckling - 92 Robert Parker
Crushed berries, orange peel and black cherries. So aromatic. Full-bodied, tight and reserved with tight and chewy
tannins, which are so fine and polished. Love the energy in the fruit and acidity. Just a hint of bitterness. So good to
drink now, but will age beautifully
Giodo, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Carlo Ferrini 2013 280
Sangiovese Grosso – Montalcino, Italy 96James Suckling - 95 Robert Parker
Plenty of dried fruit with figs and mushroom undertones. Full body, silky tannins and a ripe fruit, lemon rind and spice aftertaste. Condenses down to a refined and beautiful finish. Vivid acidity.
Alberelli di Giodo, Carlo Ferrini 2016 150
Nerello Mascalese – Sicilia, Italy 94 James Suckling - 94 Robert Parker
This is the first vintage of famed Italian wine consultant Carlo Ferrini's own Etna wine, and it is a lovely debut. It has a
charming nose of red cherries, vanilla, spice and white chocolate. A very Burgundian–style Nerello Mascalese with
great purity and precision. Supremely elegant and seductive.

Pinot Grigio Sanct Valentin, St. Michael-Eppan 2017 24/120 Pinot Grigo – Trentino Alto Adige, Italy
The 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio Sanct Valentin is a fragrant and expressive wine that shows
passion and tropical fruits backed by a touch of puff pastry. This wine offers more volume and
texture than your standard Pinot Grigio, and that barrique and tonneaux aging does leave its
mark. The wine ends with honey and sweet almond paste. You definitely feel the added
richness and concentration of the sunny and hot vintage.
Far Niente Estate 2018 30/150
Chardonnay – Napa Valley, California
The 2018 Far Niente Chardonnay offers tropical aromas of citrus and melon layered with
honeysuckle, perfume and toasted oak. A juicy entry transitions to a vibrant, yet oily, palate,
which builds to a clean and refreshing finish. This wine is well integrated and beautifully
concentrated, with lush citrus flavors and hints of minerals.
Poggio alle Gazze, Ornellaia 2016
36/180
Sauvingon Blanc, Viogner, Vermentino – Toscana, Italy
Poggio alle Gazze dell’Ornellaia, owes its elegant Mediterranean style to the Estate’s unique microclimate. This gift of nature allows Poggio alle Gazze dell’Ornellaia, with its predominance of Sauvignon Blanc, to display a firm structure and ripe fruit while maintaining great finesse.

Giodo Toscana IGT, Carlo Ferrini 2014 29/130 Sangiovese – Toscana, Italy
Lush cherry and blackberry fruit, leather, spice and tannins that provide zest and tone to this sensational Tuscan red.
Alberelli di Giodo, Carlo Ferrini 2016 35/150 Nerello Mascalese – Sicilia, Italy
This is the first vintage of famed Italian wine consultant Carlo Ferrini's own Etna wine, and it is a lovely debut. It has a charming nose of red cherries, vanilla, spice and white chocolate. A very Burgundian–style Nerello Mascalese with great purity and precision. Supremely elegant and seductive.
Madonna Nera, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015 37/160 Sangiovese Grosso – Toscana, Italy
The wine is intense, dense, tight, and deep in flavor with the cherry fruits of the Sangiovese bursting through along with spicy peppery flavours balancing the wine and pulling it altogether.
Trefethen Vineyards 2018 37/160
Cabernet Sauvignon – Napa Valley, California
Deep purple ruby in color, the wine has fruit driven aromas of plum, cherry and a hint of bay leaf.
The palate is rich and concentrated with flavors of red fruits, baking spice and vanilla.

BARBARESCO Barbaresco is characterized by its rich, spicy flavors and perfumed sweetness and is considered more elegant and refined than its counterpart (Barolo), which is a more robust and longer–lived red. Regulations stipulate that Barbaresco must have a minimum alcohol content of 12.5 percent and undergo two years of aging, one of which must be spent in wooden barrels.

GAJA
The story of the GAJA Winery can be traced to a singular, founding purpose: to produce original wines with a sense of place which reflect the tradition and culture of those who made it. This philosophy has inspired five generations of impeccable winemaking. It started over 150 years ago when Giovanni Gaja opened a small restaurant in Barbaresco, making wine to complement the food he served

BAROLO Barolo is a traditional hillside village in the rolling hills of Piemonte, northwestern Italy. To earn the name Barolo, the wines must undergo at least 38 months’ aging prior to commercial release, of which 18 must be spent in barrel (the remainder in bottle). As the tannins soften over time, the complexity shows through with hints of earth, truffles and dark chocolate.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO Brunello di Montalcino is one Italy’s most famous and prestigious wines. All Brunello wine is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown on the slopes around Montalcino – a classic Tuscan
hilltop village 20 miles south of Siena. The word Brunello translates roughly as ‘little dark one’, and is the local vernacular name for Sangiovese Grosso, the large–berried form of Sangiovese which grows in the area.

TENUTA SAN GUIDO Tenuta San Guido is much better known by the name of its most famous wine – Sassicaia. It is located in the Tuscan region of Maremma and is the only case in Italy of a DOC appellation (Bolgheri Sassicaia) being contained within one estate. Sassicaia, one of the original Super
Tuscan wines, is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, and is known for its supple texture, elegance and perfume.

ORNELLAIA & MASSETO When Lodovico Antinori founded his estate in 1981 in Bolgheri, he was confident that he was going to make quality Bordeaux-styled wines. This scion of the famed Tuscan winemaking family can hardly have realized, however, that he was on the path to creating two of Italy’s most
celebrated labels: Ornellaia and Masseto.
While Ornellaia is the maximum expression of Bolgheri and its Bordeaux blends, Masseto represents the ultimate expression of a single vineyard planted with a single variety.

MARCASSIN VINEYARDS PINOT NOIR Marcassin is a leading Sonoma Coast wine label. The vineyards are planted densely, and fruit is picked very ripe. Pinot Noir is destemmed and cold–soaked. The wine is fermented in tanks using natural yeasts. Aging takes place in new French oak and the wines are aged on their lees. No fining, filtering or cold stabilization is used so wines may throw a fine sediment or tartaric crystals.
Usually the wines are aged five years in bottle before release.

SCHRADER For more than a decade Schrader Cellars has produced benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon from the most prestigious vineyards in the Napa Valley — notably the first-growth Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. With winemaker Thomas Brown we have created wines known for their
vibrant flavor and opulent richness. Our program focuses on highlighting the character and profile of three distinct clonal varieties with minimal intervention that allows the true nature of each to shine.

OPUS ONE Opus One is the realized dream of two men: Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux and Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. The estate vineyards of Opus One, comprised of four parcels, sit in the western portion of the famed Oakville AVA. The vineyard team cultivates five traditional Bordeaux grape varieties with experience, passion and dedication.
The 2016 Opus One is remarkably elegant and bright offering sumptuous aromas of fresh red and blue fruit, baking spices and vanilla, and a delicate fragrance of spring florals.

sashaying out of the glass with tantalizing notions of violets, lavender, Black Forest cake, mulberries, tobacco leaf and fragrant earth with a core of warm cassis, kirsch, Chinese five spice, rose hip tea and cedar chest. The palate is full–bodied and super concentrated yet possesses great energy with vibrant red and black fruits and loads of mineral accents, framed by very ripe, super fine–grained tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing very long with the most incredible perfume. Hedonistically, undeniably and deliciously perfect.

HARLAN ESTATE The philosophy: "This transition zone between the wild terrain of the forest and the open plain of the valley is where we planted the vineyards, built the winery, and established our home. This is the edge of the change, and where we experience the activities of nature the most. I think that much of the character of the wine comes from the fact that the vineyards are carved from—and next to—these wild lands, this forest, and these woodlands. It's a good metaphor for life, as well as for our winegrowing philosophy."
Harlan Estate 2011 1,650 Cabernet Sauvignon – Oakville, California
QUILCEDA CREEK Quilceda Creek is dedicated to world–class Cabernet Sauvignon. Founded in 1978, Quilceda Creek has had an unbroken string of highly–rated vintages that has led Robert Parker Jr. to name it Washington State's premier Cabernet Sauvignon producer. The Columbia Valley's growing seasons are remarkably consistent, but 2005 was exceptional. Summer temperatures were quite warm resulting in extremely small berry size, and then the heat backed off just enough in September to ripen the grapes without rushing physiological maturity. The results are deeply
colored, beautifully balanced wines with tremendously dense, ripe aromas and flavors.

considered cult wines. The winery is located in Oakville, California, north of the town of Napa in the Napa Valley. The vineyard area extends 48.21 acres (19.51 ha), planted with varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and a small amount of Sauvignon blanc.
